X-NetStat Professional cannot be called the Cadillac of Internet connection software. Instead, it's more like a hot rod. Pure performance with little attention to appearances. For users obsessed with the minute details of their connection, it might be the best test drive of their life.
This program gives users deep access to their computer's Internet connection. An easy-to-measure bandwidth gauge constantly runs, as does a list of all programs and Web sites in action and how much space they are taking. Digging deeper into the program's options, users will find an incredible amount of statistics detailing bytes, IP, and more that give a clear overall picture to those able to understand the data. We have tested several other models that give useless graphs or even monitor the computer's overall memory in addition to Internet connection. X-NetStar Professional appeals to users who know how to find that information elsewhere. By stripping away the unrelated frills, a wealth of raw data is available.
X-NetStat Professional does not even attempt to cater to novices. For serious users with a deep knowledge of Internet connections, this all-business program is a good addition to your toolbox.
Publisher's description
From Fresh Software :X-NetStat Professional displays information on your current Internet and network connections in a graphical interface. These connections are established each time you visit a web page, send an instant message, check your email, or anytime you do network activity that requires you to connect to another computer. They also appear when outside computers attempt to connect to your machine, authorized or not.
Information shown includes local and remote addresses, local and remote ports, the status, the age of the connection, how much bandwidth/traffic the connection is using, and the program EXE behind it. It's kind of like Internet/network radar.
The Professional edition of X-NetStat offers a ton of additional features that are geared towards Network Administrators for their tasks of monitoring and managing networks. X-NetStat Professional contains powerful features like a Rules system that lets you set up actions based on network conditions, a comprehensive Network Statistics window displaying information on network interfaces and protocols, a server that lets you access XNS information remotely, a collection of Lookup Tools (TraceRoute, WHOIS, Finger, DNS, Web Search, Server Version, NetBIOS Lookup, Online Tools, etc), a Port Database, Logging capabilities, transmission LED lights, a dockable ViewBar, and many more features.
