This newsreader brings many of the world's newspapers right to your desktop, but you'll need to read fast because of a strict time limitation. Worldwide Newspapers Reader has a very plain but functional interface that includes a tree menu and a window for viewing a selection. The menu lists 15 countries from which to search, or you can search for a particular newspaper by the first letter of the country's name. The American newspaper selections are pretty slim, but users certainly won't be disappointed with the large selection of international newspapers. It's important to note that if you choose a newspaper that uses foreign language characters, you'll be asked to install a language pack to convert them to English. One major drawback to this newsreader is the time limitation, which only allows you to view the program for stingy two-minute increments. Also, the pickings are slim in the special features department; there are only a few editing tools (copy, cut, paste) and the ability to view in large print, and all are locked during trial. What Worldwide Newspapers Reader lacks in trial time and special features, it makes up for in the selections of international newspapers. Anyone who wants to keep up with news from all parts of the globe will be satisfied.
