This application lets you create customized word searches for classroom exercises or just for fun. An intuitive interface gets you started right away by offering premade puzzles in several categories. Within seconds, we were able to create a playable word search using the bundled puzzle topics, and within minutes, we made a puzzle from scratch using our own words in the shape we chose. Word Search Construction Kit offers several options for puzzle layouts, from common shapes such as rectangles to quirkier ones such as snowflakes and cars. You also can adjust the layout of clues and how you want the puzzle to fit on the page. You can play the game from within the app or print out multiple copies for a group or classroom. The only problem we encountered was a bug with the shareware limitation. The program claimed to have expired after a single day, 29 days short of what the developer promised. Nevertheless, we highly recommend this app to teachers looking to tailor a challenging puzzle to their students' needs.
