WebFerret provides a handy and efficient way to find information on the Web. It's fast, easy to use, and free. Enter your search words and choose from four options: all keywords, any keyword, exact phrase, or Boolean expression. Pros
I been using it since it very first release now I running it with Win 7 no problems, no patches, no updates, no fixes, Microsoft should be as good as these guys

NONE what can you say about some that works very well

The best I used for a long time and I've been programming since the Decadic Dialling System here in Australia, which most of you kiddies wouldn't know about dialling a a plexi-glass disk

"Quick and accurate in interpreting search terms"

Pros
Best feature for me is the records are all on 1 line. Enables me to be selective in opening links that are from authoritative sources such as .gov, .edu and bypassing ads. Google can't do this as well and Blekka doesn't get to the sites required.
Cons
None in the context of my search requirements.
Summary
User friendly screen presentation enabling good assessment of search results and therefore input of search terms.

"This is one of the better search programs I have used"

Pros
I used WebFerret years ago because it was fast. WebFerret found many more sites that many or the other search engines. I stopped using the program when you started charging for it but now I will use it all the time since it was one of my favorite.
Cons
When creating a search need to be more precise as to exactly what you are looking for otherwise you can receive tons of sites you don't need although they may create interest to review at a later date.
Summary
I love this search engine, please don't start charging for it again. Please let us know when new and improve programs are ready to use.

"Cracking programme if you are searching for things"

Searches the whole net, all the search engines in one place

If you want to find some obscure programme, Webferret is the place to be...its a must have for programme searches with many reviews, so you know what you are getting, some are free to download and use indefinately, some are shareware, i would recommend web ferret to anyone

Love this program. Been Using It For Years. Simple to use and I can find most ANYTHING easily.

Summary
If installing in Win7, you may, at first, have no menu display. Here's the fix: Open REGEDIT and navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\FerretSoft\NetFerret\CurrentVersion\Web\ Scroll down on right side (Name Column) to VisibleMenuBar and change the Data value to 1.

with more detail it finds more hits on what you are searching for. Not had any problems with it loading, finding what I am looking for. I prefer webferret over all the other search programs offered on the net.

Searches a lot of engines, finds stuff that didn't make it into the first few pages of Google results. Newest version is adware-free.
Cons
Doesn't integrate well with modern browsers like Firefox and Chrome. Ignores the default browser setting when launching browser. Doesn't search "big-name" engines like Google. Lots of irrelevant and adult content, even for searches like "Wikipedia."
Summary
WebFerret does what it says on the label, but needs a major update for modern times, as well as a content filter.
It ignores your system browser setting when you open the results. In my testing, AOL kept launching, even though Chrome is the default browser.
In addition, major search engines like Google, Yahoo, and Bing, aren't even checked, and some of the engines it does use return dubious results. On occasion, innocuous topics such as the name of a movie or a historical event (I tried "James Cameron's Avatar" and "World War II") tended to return link farms and adult content.
On the upside, it uninstalls cleanly.
Bottom line: Pass on WebFerret. Back in the days when the internet was small and Google wasn't big, it could've been useful. Now though, Google, Yahoo, and Bing are a better bet for research. -

Great for multiple search engines at one - list many more hits that traditional search engines - just cruise the list hold your cursor over the item and the info is there.
Cons
works with internet explorer and not chrome.
