CNET Editors' review
This updated weather application offers a smorgasbord of weather-related data. Once you've provided a zip code or city, Weather Watcher Live's easy-to-use interface displays detailed weather information, including forecasts, temperature, and expected highs and lows. You can add as many locations as you'd like and switch among them using the system-tray icon.
Automatic updates keep you abreast of the current wind speed, dew point, humidity, barometric pressure, and moon phases. You can display your location's current weather conditions by mousing over the temperature readout in your system tray. Weather Watcher Live provides extensive customizations, measurement conversions, and numerous maps from all over the globe, and a log for quick reference. You can view weather data with hourly and daily forecasts, and create a keyword list to filter severe weather alerts.
The application also features a wallpaper changer for your desktop using several file formats, including JPEG, GIF, BMP, and HTML. Our only serious complaint is its hefty 19MB memory usage. Overall, though, this informative, customizable program can benefit a wide range of users, and it's free to boot. This is a top pick.

"Don't use the modern version"
Version: Weather Watcher Live 7.1.06
Pros
I don't know if you can still find it but I would think you can. But use the older v. 5.6.0.53 or before. I have used weather watcher for years and a couple years back maybe even 3 or 4 they changed it completely and I hated it and went back to the older version and have been using it ever since. There are ads, no fees, no trial. It's 100 percent free and works just as good as the new one does. This is not a cracked version or anything, it's just plain old free. This program was free back in the day and I had no idea they charged for it now until today when i came to check out the new version.
Cons
I don't think it really has any
Summary
Like I said do a google search for weather watcher 5.6.0.53 and I think you'll like it much more. Hope I'm not screwing myself by letting out this secret. watch singer find out about this and put a lock on the older versions :p anyway i hope this helps someone.
P.S. If you don't like the look of it there are skins out there that tune up the look and make it more modern, just look around. -

OK but was not described correctly

"Weather Watcher fee based program"
Version: Weather Watcher Live 7.0.81
Pros
It is a comprehensive weather program with many options and good graphic interface
It can provide all kinds of details for local and us, and probably lots moreCons
It has a small fee for usage and i didnt keep it long enough to see if it was a one time or annual deal. I have only basic routine weather interests and i use a free one and h ave for years which provides me with all , and more , that i need.
Summary
i only used it a week or so before i even realized it was fee based. i didnt really even use it , but installed it and got around to it a week after and liked what it was , only i had the browser app which served me well and was accurate , with a few days forecasts (any more is so much guess work, why bother?) is my opinion. I guess if one is a real weather geek , then $9 is a small price for a good program, as far as my limited use revealed. though not for me, i am sure there are plenty of people who would love it
