"the best editor for Javascript"
Version: WeBuilder 2011 11.2.0.129
Pros
it's the best editor for Javascript
it shows the list of all your objects, properties and methods at the left. You can find any part of the code you need
it allows to compress objects and functions, so you can hide the code you don't need to see while coding
it allows to check the code with JSLint
it's extremely configurableCons
the JSLint checker is still not fully integrated
Summary
The most perfect editor for Javascript. I'm pretty sure is great for other languages as well, but while is easy to find editor for any language, it's hard to do it for Javascript. This is the one.

"It is in my opinion the best coding/programming program"
Version: WeBuilder 2011 10.2.0.121
Pros
- Customizable Auto-Complete
- Non-Bloated, Fast & Reliable
- Easy On The Eyes (in comparison to notepad++)
- Coding Preview even for scripting languages
- 'Library' feature which is amazing feature to save common snippets of code (elaborated Below).Cons
- Stopped responding on me (temporarily only**, Did not shutdown) a few times but far less then any other program for coding/editing I used.
- I would enjoy a little more graphical interface but if It gained that it might become bloated.
-Summary
Sorry for the long review everyone, but I want to make sure everyone knows all the features of this program. I searched for a long time to find the 'right' coding/programming program for me.
Complete Pros
- Customizable Auto-Complete. You can turn on certain types of auto-complete (for example, for different languages or areas of a language)
- Non-Bloated, Fast & Reliable
- Easy On The Eyes (in comparison to notepad++ and other similar programs)
- Fast Start Up
- Coding Preview even for scripting languages
- 'Library' feature which is amazing feature that would save just about every web developer tons of time.
-- The 'Library' is where you can set up 'Snippets' of code and easily insert that snippet into any document. This is very useful, for example, I created snippets for differant scripts. For example, A jquery Slideshow, I setup 2 snippets, one for the coding for the slideshow and one for the stylesheet and script tags for the head section..
- Ability to create templates to be used for new documents. Also a very good selection of pre-setup templates come with it
- Easy to use and graphically appealing tabs for multiple open documents
- The interface has some advanced drag and drop capability enabling you to organize the entire program to fit your needs. Even the main menus can be customized
- You can enable various toolbars for different languages. You can then choose to have those toolbars always display or display only when you are working in a specific document or area of a document.
-- For example, you can choose to display the CSS toolbar only when you are in a .css document or working in a style="" tag or inside a <style></style> tag. This is great for keeping the program un-cluttered to avoid confusion and searching for features.
- Advanced Shortcut customization which is surprisingly un-buggy in comparison with notepad++, dreamweaver, and aptana studio.
- Fairly advanced Find And Replace function in relation to dreamweaver, notepad++, aptana, etc.. You can easily find and replace over multiple lines with all the standard features and many more you won't find easily elsewhere.
- Great Bookmarking Features
- Built-In FTP program which is fast and reliable. Also built in is a very functional file explorer.
- Built-In Clipboard history is very easily accessible at any time and is immensely helpful
- Built-In CSS, PHP, & HTML reference are very helpful.
- Built-In HTML Tidy with tons of features
- Built-In HTML & CSS Validation
- SQL Database Explorer
- Project management with ftp management
There are many many more features to this program, but above are a good starting point.
Complete Cons
- Stopped responding on me (temporarily only*) a few times but far less then any other program for coding/editing I have used (even notepad++). Also it never led to an unexpected shutdown which is a plus.
- I would enjoy a little more graphical interface but if It gained that it might become bloated.
- Doesn't look like there is too much of a plugin contributing community unless I am missing it.
- There are always little bugs and cons in good programs but surprisingly, I have noticed WeBuilder to be very responsive and reliable. -
"Hard to beat if you don't need WYSIWYG"
Version: WeBuilder 2011 10.2.0.121
Pros
Versatility, Flexibility. Very complete: HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP, SQL, FTP - all with top notch features. Very supportive and responsive staff. Quick to add enhancements.
Cons
Not WYSIWYG.
Summary
If you do any web development, this is a product to consider. Customizable so that you can tailor an integrated environment for yourself. Has almost all the features you could want. (Besides WYSIWYG, which may in fact be a disadvantage, lacks graphics support and not much else.)
Again, definitely worth consideration. -

"THE Best"
Version: WeBuilder 2011 9
Pros
After plowing through probably a dozen free editors (PS Pad is my choice in that category) and several trial versions, I feel as if I've struck the mother lode. This is the only editor that allows not just code folding (collapsing currently irrelevant sections) but gives the choice of hiding selected code! Another feature, which can be found on some editors, is matching brackets -- shows what goes with what -- no small matter in PHP while and if structures. WeBuilder is filled with lots of other goodies. It's linked to LocalHost (I use WAMP) and the Preview tab at the bottom makes for easy viewing. Tabs at the bottom also include Horizontal and Vertical split screens.
The only program which comes close to this is PHP Designer, a pricey alternative.
Cons
Not free, but here you DO get what you pay for.
