Wall Street Raider provides a realistic simulation of the wheeling-dealing stock market lifestyle. Much like the real Wall Street, this game is incredibly complex and not for novices.

The program's interface was so confusingly dense that it practically gave us a headache with its multicolored, compartmentalized display. Unfortunately, we quickly discovered that Wall Street Raider is reserved for those with prior stock-trading knowledge, since the Help file was just as dense with text and jargon. From our limited understanding of Wall Street dealings, the program does an impressive job of recreating a trader's life, despite its horrible organization. We had the opportunity to buy and sell stocks, monitor the news for trade deals and governmental decisions, and plan hostile corporate takeovers. Our goal was to gain control of as many companies as possible through trades and dealing, though we had a hard time understanding the strategy behind it all. The program's amazing options were its best feature. From charts of your stocks to helping you choosing a cheap law firm or a pricey one when you're sued, the features were incredibly broad and realistic. Unfortunately, we were constantly overwhelmed by the incredible attention to detail needed to win, but we could easily see stock junkies loving the control and realism.

Wall Street Raider offers two years of simulated play during the trial. While it was overwhelming for newcomers, we think that those with Wall Street knowledge would love this program, and we recommend it.

Publisher's description

From Ronin Software :

Wall Street Raider is a highly sophisticated and realistic financial simulation, a corporate takeover and stock market game in which you strive to build your corporate empire by fair means, or otherwise, all the while trying to stay one step ahead of the SEC, IRS, Justice Department, EPA, Congress, powerful unions and no end of ruthless competitors-not to mention manmade and natural economic and other disasters, and tough ethical choices.
