This diagnostic tool makes Ping routines both more effective and more entertaining. Navigating the world map is quite easy, as is choosing a map with another design. VisualRoute generates complete Ping and Whois information with time graphs, which administrators can export to text or HTML reports, or to a JPEG screenshot.

Happily, the program consumes much less system memory than it did in the past and doesn t appear to affect performance in any way. The map's route tracing can be fascinating, and the results table offers a wealth of information everywhere you click. The program also can monitor response time.

You can even run VisualRoute as a Web server and embed it in your pages. For less experienced users, the analysis section explains in plain English what's going wrong in the trace. In short, this program seems like a good pick for any Webmaster.

Messed up browsers, kept me from accessing the internet

It malfunctioned and kept me from accessing the Intenet at all. After a day, I could not acccess the Internet through either Internet Explorer or Chrome. I tried to change IP's, but the changes didn't register. Then, the uninstall option didn't let me remove it comepleteley, and I had to manually remove it after running Task manager t0 end the process. That didn't fix the problem, however. Evidently it changed the proxy server settings but never changed them back. It took me awhile to diagnose teh problem. In short, there appear to be bugs in this software that affect basic operation of your browsers.

 Updated on Mar 9, 2012Wrong product -- this review is for Quick Hide IP. I did not use this program. I will add a five star review to counterbalance this wrong review. I wish I could remove it altogether.

I had NO idea I WAS pirated until I put the IP address THEY gave me into VR & found I was LOSING all of my DATA in pkts from Canada - Washington DC - London UK- Germany-Austria-Italy-Czech Rep/constantly THEN I FOUND ALL 10 of THEM Thanx VR

Summary
First I pinged myself & 90 pkts went via MANY nodes from ME - Czech Rep. in 53 mil secs. Then I tried A LOT more addresses and found that NOT ALL of the names on the Defender Host List are SAFE! I also asked some of MY contacts to check their Systems Info, & THEY TOO were PIRATED! NOW I need to FILE against these PIRATES. Told by MS to call FBI, but, being Canadian, I get 'Dudley Do-Right' & HE can't do anything!! AND some sites state NO cross- border FILING!! Others say YES that ALL countries are NOW included in the ILLEGALITIES of PIRACEY, so I will TRY to get SOME of my lost $$$ back & PROVE I AM NOT NUTS!!!!! Thanks again!!!!

This situation I found I'm in, is "NOT JUST a BUG or VIRUS", & "JUST DELETE IT!!??" NO ONE GETS IT!. had to 'talk' a few friends thru this, and THEY TOO have 'IT' and STILL Don't care! I DO! THIS IS "MY" privage infringed on, & $$ on Cr.Cards etc!!!

I discovered 'IT' all over my PC, esp. when Itried to sign into 'a program', and they said there is another with MY NAME &password, BUT, the IP was different! I went to AINI and there WAS this NEW IP I NOW have...and it's at the top of the 'wanted' list,"BLACK-Listed"..Am I now a terrorist??? I refuse to just delete it all, until I FIND THE SOURCE!!!!!

It traces the route from a distant server and, if you do pay for it, then you will know all of the places from where it comes to you. you will be able to see hold ups and allsorts. but I have not sorted it all out yet! Another freebie from same stable is "My SPEED PC LITE EDITION" GREAT!!!!

The bragging rights features are indeed impressive. The pingtrace came back pretty quickly.

There's no real way to rate the product as the only feature enabled is the graph. It gives ip numbers, and .com addresses for the server, but absolutely NO information other than that. Any attempt to use any features will bring up a web page asking you to buy the product.

Analyze Internet connection problems and locate IPs.

VisualRoute combines the tools traceroute, ping, reverse DNS, and Whois into a single graphical interface that analyzes Internet connections to quickly locate where outages or slowdowns occur. An IP location database identifies the geographical location of IP addresses and Web servers, showing the path of an Internet connection on a global map. Domain registration and network provider contact information are reported for each network hop. The ping capabilities provide a good idea of whether or not the site is live, while traceroute will help determine where along the route the problem lies. VisualRoute's traceroute reports include an overall analysis, a data table, and a geographical view of the routing. The analysis is a brief description of the number of hops, where problems occurred, and the type of Web server software running at the site you are trying to reach. The data table lists information for each hop, including the IP address, node name, geographical location and the major Internet backbone where each server resides. The World map gives a graphical representation of the actual path of an Internet connection. A mouse click on a server or network name opens a pop-up Whois window, providing instant contact information for problem reporting. Specialized editions include added tools for pinpointing connectivity problems, including continuous trace and ping testing, trace report history, multiple path discovery and port probing.
