Software Modem allows any modem communications applications to interact via LAN or the Internet. Application "dials" remote IP address instead of making dial-direct call using hardware modem. Even so, it looks like if the application was working with hardware modem. But in fact, hardware modem is not used.

Version: Virtual Modem 2.1.1

"Does not emulate CD signal"

Pros: Simple to configure

Cons: Doesn't work: the CD signal is always on even without a connection. So the modem looks like it's stuck connected.

Summary: Unusable.
