"Easy to Use Industrial Strength Crypto Has Gotten Even Better Since v2.2!"
Version: VaultletSuite 2 Go 2.6
Pros
Version 2.6 is quite nice. Kudos to VaultletSoft!
The amount of new features, usability improvements and GUI polishing that this version has compared to v2.2 (which I last reviewed) is phenomenal.
Watching this software evolve over the last 4 major releases has been a pleasure and really easy too - their automatic updater module keeps everything up to date and is incredibly easy to configure. As a result, I really didn't need to do anything to get the new versions other than wait a moment while they were downloaded and put in place. Very slick!
They've included everything I really needed and more, so now it's a matter of picking nits and talking about what I'd like to see in future releases (below).
Cons
The VaultletFiler app is still pretty minimalist. I'd like to see VaultletSoft implement the ability to manage multiple files within a nested directtory structure. Still, this is something I'd like to have, not something I need.

"Love my privacy, love the convenience -- plus it has a serious 'cool' factor!"
Version: VaultletSuite 2 Go 2.4
Pros
In its deceiving simplicity, greatly appreciate the advanced end user functionality wrapped in cryptographic sophistication. I highly value my privacy and the ability to send and, more importantly, receive mail from only those I choose. NO SPAM--2 years and counting! I can get to my account anywhere, anytime. I can use what I want -- the most basic or advanced features of the suite. The address book is easy to maintain. Love that updates are pushed to me -- quickly, seamlessly. Also find the VauletSoft website extremely informative in terms of what is the latest and greatest with the version I'm using, as well as keeping me up to date in the world of security, should I choose to peruse the blog or other links. The 'cool' factor ... (one of them anyways) is the scope controlled messages....you actually have to see it for yourself, but seeing an email disappear right after you read it or knowing that you have control over it is -- pretty cool. Go check it out!

"secure and convenient"
Version: VaultletSuite 2 Go 2.3.8
Pros
I am using the VaultletSuite for over a year now and I love the feeling of privacy it gives me. With it's industrial strength encryption it's still easy to use and I know for sure no third party will be reading my mails.
Cons
There really is nothing I don't like about it.

"Get a new e-mail account? No thanks."
Version: VaultletSuite 2 Go 2.3
Pros
It gives you an e-mail address, which I guess is good.
Cons
I thought it was supposed to allow you to check other e-mail accounts....

"Great software to communicate securely, easy way to carry secure data on a USB"
Version: VaultletSuite 2 Go 2.3
Pros
It works with Linux, Solaris and Windows, its easy to manage, the interface is easy to understand.
Cons
Encryption of files is stored on the USB stick not their email remote server

"It's easy to use, spam-free, and secure. What else could you ask for?"
Version: VaultletSuite 2 Go 2.3
Pros
In the last couple of years, I?ve had the privilege to use VaultletSuite 2 Go, and I am very pleased with its performance. I especially like the spam free e-mail and the capability of sending and receiving encrypted e-mail messages. I highly support Rick?s work and applaud his commitment to making secured technology available to non-profit organizations.

"Industrial Strength Protection for Us Mortals"
Version: VaultletSuite 2 Go 2.3
Pros
It doesn't take your local cryptophreak or the geek next door neighbor make the VaultletSuite 2 Go work - it was easy for me to install and get started. At first I thought it a bit odd to bundle Email, password and USB drive file protection into one package, but then I realized that it's nice to have all of those things protected with one passphrase.
It's even nicer to be able to install it on my USB drive and take it to work, since I can't install it on my locked down computer, so that's a definite plus.
Cons
I agree w/ garbancito, there are still a few features that I'd like to see implemented before I give it my unfailing support: for one thing, there's no Bcc option when sending messages. How hard is that to do?
The VaultletFiler is really simplistic. I'd love to see it provide for basic file explorer functionality, like document viewing and the ability to encrypt an entire directory.
Oh well, the basic version's free, so I can't carp too much about what's lacking. Still, a guy can dream, can't he?

"Beautiful, easy to use industrial strength crypto. 10X easier than PGP!"
Version: VaultletSuite 2 Go 2.2.2
Pros
I really like the control features that VaultletMail offers: you can flag your messages as "HalfLife'd". That's VaultletSoft's way of saying that your messages can actually be set to disappear after 30 seconds, by the end of the week, etc. Very Mission Impossible! The "ScopeControlled" part allows you to set limits on whether its recipients can archive, print, copy and or forward your messages too. Not that I think that I'm going to need either of these features very often, but they're definitely neat.
Supposedly you can create a portable version of the VaultletSuite 2 Go and carry both your data and the application on your USB thumb drive; I just installed it on my computer, so I can't say how that works. I don't know how many of you need this feature (since I don't), but I imagine that those of you who can't install the VS2Go on your computer at work should find this to be quite nice.
Almost forgot: apparently the VS2Go automatically updates itself. After I installed version 2.2.0.0, it automatically updated itself to v2.2.2 in about 15 seconds. Very nice!
Cons
Here's where I think it's lacking:
The "SpecialDelivery" feature is still in Beta, and while it is true that you can send anybody a secure message, regardless of what email system and client they use, the SpecialDelivery viewer is a bit cumbersome: it takes 2 keystrokes and 2 mouse clicks to load a secure Applet to view your message. Perhaps the SpecialDelivery plugin they're developing for Firefox will make life easier for those who use Firefox to view their webmail accounts.
While the VaultletMail client is easy to use, and nice to look at, I'd really like to be able to delete and archive multiple messages with one click. As it stands, the current version requires that you have to perform each operation individually, so sometimes you may end up deleting messages in your "SpamChallenged" fold by going "click, click, click...". It's a bit repetitive, but it's still nice to know that your spam is segregated from the messages that you want to see; it also has a pretty funny way of deciding what's spam and what's not. Try it yourself to find out...
What about the other pieces, PasswordValet and the VaultletFiler? While they're quite simple and indeed handy, you can tell that this suite's star is the VaultletMail system.
Overall, I think it's a good start, and I look forward to future releases.
