VLC Media Player is an open-source program that lets you play all kinds of media on your iOS device even if they're in formats that are not normally supported. Just download your music and videos to your iPhone or iPad, and you're ready to enjoy them wherever you go.
Multiple transfer options: When you're ready to move files from your computer to your VLC library, you have several options. You can connect your device directly to the computer, and then complete the transfer through iTunes, or you can connect both your computer and your device to the same Wi-Fi network, and then follow the instructions to drag and drop your files right in. The app also supports Dropbox and Google Drive, so if you want files from there, all you have to do is connect your account through the main VLC menu.
Clear interface: When you open the app, the main screen displays your library. You can access the app's other features by tapping the icon in the upper left-hand corner of the screen. There you'll find your connection options and Settings menu.
Obscure instructions: Some of the instructions that help you get your media files onto your mobile device are a little short on details, which can make the process a bit confusing for inexperienced users. It may take a few tries, but eventually you'll get the hang of it.
VLC Media Player provides excellent playback quality, with intuitive controls and a clean interface. It lets you play many more file types than you would otherwise be able to on an iOS device, and it's free. So if you want another option for viewing your media files on the go, this is a great app to check out.
