Publisher's description
From VIA Technologies :VIA V-RAID Driver is a combo driver for VIA VT6410 IDE RAID controller, discrete Serial ATA RAID controllers VT6420 and VT6421 and integrated Serial ATA RAID controllers VT8237 & VT8251. The VT8237 native Serial RAID solution enables users to benefit from the performance and data security benefits of a high-end RAID system, but without the normally complicated setup procedures. Users do, however, need to have a basic understanding of RAID and how it works in order to be able to choose the best set up for their requirements and in order to be able to understand the set up procedures.
Version 5.30c (06/19/2006) may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.

Version: VIA V-RAID Driver 5.30c (06/19/2006)
"Version V5.80F ( 03/19/09) available"
Pros: Inexpensive and easy (especially for RAID1 for PCs )
Cons: Display of disks in BIOS at boot, MUST be updated to include Serial number, otherwise it you have disks of the same type it's hard (and scary) to tell which is which.

RAID-1 ( mirror) is so cheap ( as low as $18 for board + additional disk) you'd be silly not to do it. - See all 2 user reviews Write review
