Twitter for Android gives you full access to Twitter without opening your browser, but it's also specifically designed for mobile use. Recent updates include improved Search displays, and Home, Activity, and Discover are now accessible when you swipe Timelines.
Built for Android: Twitter for Android bypasses Web browsers and any vulnerabilities in favor of integrated features. For example, it can send and receive photos privately in Messages.
Notifications: Twitter for Android's notifications appear in your device's notifications tray (with optional sound effects). We could configure custom notifications for specific accounts, so we wouldn't miss important tweets.
App versus mobile browser site: Twitter for Android and Twitter's mobile browser site offer essentially the same thing in a different style, so users who are comfortable using the latter might not benefit from the Android-specific app.
Twitter for Android works great, but the browser version, though slightly different in appearance, also accesses Twitter perfectly well. Which you choose might just come down to a matter of preference. But Twitter for Android is free, and you can always access your Twitter account from any active browser, so what's wrong with having both?

What's new in this version:
A few updates to make Twitter even better. Happy Tweeting!
The previous version was great - lightweight, fast, clean uncluttered interface. The current version takes most of that away (see Cons)
- The large blue bar on top, and the four huge icons, are a waste of precious screen real estate, especially if you are using the app on phones and not a tablet. - Please remove unnecessary border around the content to allow more tweets to show on screen
Please allow users the option to go back to previous versions, or come up with a lightweight version.
