Triple Entendre is based on puzzle games like notpr0n, godtower, and qwyzzle, unique games that use a regular Web browser to challenge you to solve riddles. This is one of those games that's hard to describe if you've never tried it, but the idea is: each screen gives you a clue of some kind and it is your job to look at the available information (checking search engines is encouraged) and then provide an answer in the box to move on to the next screen. These games are notoriously difficult, and sometimes it's not even the answer you're looking for online--sometimes you're simply trying to decode the question. In other words, those who are easily frustrated should skip this game entirely.
If you like difficult brain-teasers, however, Triple Entendre is probably right up your alley. The top part of the interface gives you the info you need (or the "clue") and the bottom has a field for filling in the answer along with a handy button to search the Web. Hitting the Web button brings up a search page made by the developers that lets you quickly search either Wikipedia or Google by entering words in text fields. A little fair warning: with a game like this, you'll spend a lot of time searching for clues on this page. Sometimes even search engines are no help, but fortunately, there are forums online dedicated to working out the problems in Triple Entendre. I'll say it one more time: this is not an easy puzzle game.
Triple Entendre does a great job of bringing this type of browser-based puzzler to the iPhone. The simple interface and included search component make it easy to follow, even if the riddles themselves can sometimes seem impossible. Needless to say, only puzzle fans looking for a real challenge should try this game.
If you've ever played an online riddle like notpr0n, godtower or qwyzzle, you'll love this game. The first riddle game of its kind for your ios devices. Triple Entendre is a riddle, a puzzle, a quiz, and a trivia game all rolled into one. Each level includes a combination of clues and photos where you need to figure out not just what the answer is... but what the question is. Unlike traditional trivia games where a simple internet search will give you a correct answer, your problem solving skills will be needed to even start a web search. Web searching is encouraged in Triple Entendre and we have even taken advantage of your 3g or WiFi connection by building in an internal web search. We hope that your brain power and useless trivia knowledge will be truly tested.
Currently 46 puzzles long, but we have frequent updates planned with more puzzles. Triple Entendre supports Game Center with achievements (a leaderboard is coming). Who will be the first to finish Triple Entendre?
