TripAdvisor is the comprehensive companion app to the popular travel Web site of the same name. It's a great resource for discovering hotels, restaurants, and things to do in destinations all around the world. It even lets you read reviews, talk in forums, and look through tons of photos shot by other travelers.

From the main Dashboard, you can jump directly into a section, and conduct a search for Hotels, Restaurants, or Things to do. But the better way to use the app is through the global search tool at the top of the screen, which pulls up all of the relevant recommendations and pages once you type in your destination. From these pages, you can read in-depth write-ups and do things like check hotel rates, make a call or send an e-mail, or reserve a table at a restaurant. It's a lot of functionality packed into one app.

One thing we love about the TripAdvisor app is its Save feature. It lets you save destinations, hotels, landmarks, or pretty much any item for viewing later.

Overall, we think TripAdvisor is a must-have for anyone who likes to travel frequently. It's a great way to get inside information on your desired destinations, and it even lets you book rooms, flights, and reserve tables at restaurants.
