Total Video Converter is a program for converting and ripping videos to formats that are supported by a number of common electronic devices like the iPhone.
The overall design and features of this program are simple and easy to navigate. The main features are all accessible from the main window, and Total Video Converter also gives you quick and easy instructions on startup. The conversion time will be different for each task that you do, depending on the file size as well as format, but it handles most of the popular formats, including mp4, 3gp, xvid, divx mpeg4 avi, amr audio. There are other features available as well to make it easier to find and upload files, including Import Media Files and Import Photos. Making a photo slideshow is very simple, though the quality depends on the photos you use. You do have a few special effects to choose from, and these are similar to most slideshow programs. You can also grab or copy audio from your favorite CD discs, a feature we liked for adding a soundtrack to your videos. The Help Page provides detailed user guidance, but since the program is pretty easy to figure out, most won't need to use this resource.
You shouldn't have any problems downloading and installing this. The steps are very simple and quick. There aren't any unnecessary extra downloads to worry about either, though there will be a Total Video Player that will be installed with the Total Video Converter.

"NOT 'Spectacular' at all - a very poor product"

I downloaded this based on the 'spectacular' rating and very positive review by CNET.
What I needed it to do was convert AVCHD to mp4.
The results were awful - laggy, blurry, smeary video.
It also put a HUGE two line watermark on the video, which rendered it unusable even if the video quality was acceptable.
So, no positives at all for me.Cons

This product may have a bunch of features I will never try, because the only one I care about does not work; ripping BluRay discs. I have a large BluRay collection that I want to take with my when I travel but even after paying for the full version, I could not get TVC to convert the *.m2ts files.
The application would act like it was trying to convert the BluRay, but it would never progress past 0% and then eventually stop and write out an useless 1kb file. I tried tweaking settings, exporting to different file types, installing on a different computer, all with no success.
I've gone to their web site looking for help and found no support pages. I clicked on their "support forum" link under Help -> About and it goes to useless empty web page. I've done Google searches and cannot find any help or support regarding this product.
Based on other reviews, I am not going to waste my time trying to email the company. The whole reason I purchased this product was to make converting my BluRay collection quick and easy. If I had the time to mess around with emailing back and forth with support, I would have just used one of the free (yet lengthy) methods people have talked about online.
On a minor nit-picky point, the TVC interface feels unpolished running on Windows 7. It's little things, like the grainy look of the logo and certain buttons (like running an XP app on Win 7), that just emphasize the "cheap" feeling I have of the application. I'm ok with function over form, but only when the function actually works. -

I recommend this free software for newbies. It is easy to use and does not leave any water marks in the converted video files. I haven't experience any hung ups or crush down with this program yet. So far so good. Now i can enjoy watching movies on the go through my iphone and other devices.

After converting a movie , the picture was awful ! Tried to download 3 more movies and they all froze at 99% complete , very frustrating . Unistalled this program to never go back to it .
