It set a new standard of excellence, with scripts by creator Rod Serling, and outstanding writers Richard Matheson, Charles Beaumont, George Clayton Johnson, Jerry Sohl, Earl Hamner, Jr., Reginald Rose and Ray Bradbury. The show mixed science fiction, fantasy, horror, suspense and occasional humor in a unique blend never before seen on television.
