The software is difficult to figure out, but powerful enough once you have. I made some beautiful tiles.
The sellers send you a key code in a zip folder - or at least they claim to, but the zip folder is empty. When you try to get support you are sent around in circles through the FAQ system. Trying to email the sellers only gets you the same old automated email response, that is never honoured. I had to get pretty nasty before I got my money back.
DONT BUY THIS SOFTWARE - you may not get your money back!
Demo works great!
The creator does not exist and the re-seller SWREG will not answer emails from their own support page.
The software is a nice piece of software. It is a shame that the license does not work and the creator and re-seller do not care. Due to SWREG not answering the claim I made against them with paypal I was able to get my money back.
DEMO very good
You will never register it. They give you corrupted TextureMakerLicense.zip file and not answering your emails.
They only autoreplay asking you to pay again.
This is a scam. Stay away from them (vendor and seller). My friend tried to fix corrupter file and said that the file is not completed.
Check google to see that it is a scam.
You can use the trail version. JUST DON'T BUY IT.
Broken license, no support from SWREG, which does not answer email. I have tried to locate Tobias Reichert the author of the product to no avail!
DO NOT PURCHASE IT!
Broken license, no support from SWREG, which does not answer emails, no contact number anywhere, author is unreachable and support forum is DEAD
Software runs in demo mode only after license purchase. Beware
Abandonware, but they still get your credit card. Author unreachable, ZERO SUPPORT.
Author either dead/disappeared or possibile fraud. Pity, as this seemed to be quite good.
Nice software, but extremely complicated to handle, can do a lot of different functions but be prepared to spend your nights.
Crashed many times right before saving my work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I will divide this review into the ratings, even though it looks like I just took the best rating for everything, they are well thought off.
The main part of the program is creating seamless textures. For that it offers many tools for lighting, bump mapping and exporting, including transparency, bumpmaps and normal maps. Further it features a landscape engine which allows stunning results and a particle engine that even allows seamless animations.
The inteface can roughly be divided into 4 parts. On the left there are thumbnails with all open textures. Which allow fast access as well as drag and drop on each other. The main area in the middle is of course where you see the textures you are working on. On the right there are 2 bars, one showing the options for the currently selected tools and the other one shows the list of tools. The list is decided into groups, such as generators, filters or bump mapping. The number of choices is huge, but there are none which bloat the program. Every tool offers a wide range of settings.
Ease of Use
The inteface is uncommon, but it doesn't need more than 10 minutes to get the hang of it. It is actually quite effective to use. The huge number of possibilities is tamed by a couple of useful presets for every function. You can control every function to the max, but you don't have to. Overall the inteface lets you concentrate on what you want to do.
I don't know about any problems with the current version.
With Texture Maker you can generate (and paint!) seamless textures faster then in any other programm.
It includes more then 40 "generators" to creating things like clouds, bricks, gravel,
waves ... or create your "own" function with an expresion-parser, and many other tools like filters, deformation tools, noise functions (erosion, spots, randomize ...).
With the combination of them all you can easy create a endless list of different, high quality textures.
TextureMaker is software which yields the most versatile results of any 2D software I've used. Although it does not yet support brushes, you can achieve many similar, if not superior, effects from other existing functions which are available. In other 2D software, you must rely on third-party plug-ins to get unique effects - but not in TextureMaker, where nearly any effect imaginable is already available for use. For a great beginning point, presets are available for nearly every function -- and where you take it from there is just a matter of your imagination and creative use of the countless features available in this robust 2D graphics software. The possibilities are literally endless.
Although it can take some time to become familiar with the interface, once you grasp it - it becomes remarkably easy to use.
There are a plethora of useful functions that enable even a novice to quickly and simpy produce some astounding results.
With a skilled hand it can rival any more expensive product on the market.
