  Pros

  It does what it says it does, namely synchronising two iTunes libraries. Kick it off, and some time later (about an hour for a couple of thousand files on an 802.11n network), you till have a synchronised music collection.

  Cons

  First of all, the interface is dull and looks like something created 10 years ago. If you're a MacOS or Windows 7 user, you're probably used to better interfaces than this one. Secondly, if you're not careful, you can find files deleted from one library being recopied from the other one. Do regular syncs and this is less of a problem. Third, sometimes it just chokes and dies on you. That's not catastrophic, but it's annoying if you've gone to bed, leaving it to synchronise a few thousand files and found it choked about 20 seconds after you closed your eyes. Of course, kicking it off again carries on the synchronisation. Finally, it takes a lot more resources than copying files across the network would normally do. Both my MacBook Pro and my Media Center slow down noticeably when synchronising (hence trying to do it over night).

  Summary

  It's not pretty and it has a few annoying quirks, but I can't find anything better out there. I keep hoping the next version will be prettier and more intelligent, but so far I've been disappointed. That said, it does work. It's not the neat, tidy experience we're getting more and more used to in the Apple-centric part of the IT world, but when you pay your money for this product, you do get what they promise. It's just that you may get a few more grey hairs from the process!

  Tried the demo version -- it took the better part of the day to rebuild a library ... I thought, nice piece of software .... but the clanger came at the end of it all ... when it informed me that what I was attempting to do was not possible in a demo version! Thanks for wasting most of my day!! Sounds like a typical US product! ... e.g. Skype ... wonderful features ... but when you do something like recharge, it FORCES future auto-recharges, and gives you misleading emails thanking you for turning on the auto-recharge option, when nothing is further from the truth! This cutting-edge, cutting-throat mentality is old world thinking! Great product here, too, but shabby approach to dealing with customers!

  Pros

  Allows many options, selection, etc., in sync of your music files. great program to keep things in sync and make sure you have a valid back-up copy of large file sets.

  Cons

  You can mess things up as easily as you can keep them duplicated. Matching duplicate files is sometimes missed when file name are not matched properly - so you get duplicates.

  Summary

  Great feature set, much flexibility, many options and will work over a network.

  This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />I use SuperSync to add music files from various networked Macs to the Mac I have attached to my stereo, and it does this well. I can thus use any of my Macs to rip CDs or download MP3s, and the files will automatically get added to iTunes on my stereo. I tried to copy the iTunes Library files over the network as my solution before trying SuperSync. Copying works as a one-time trick, but once you have multiple library files out of sync, you can't sync them just by copying. SuperSync solves this issue. There is a lot more to SuperSync, but as a new user, I haven't touched a lot of the functions yet. It appears well-priced if you plan to use it fully. The support I received from SuperSync was nothing short of amazing. I downloaded 2.4.1, and bought it based on the demo. I ran into a bug with 2.4.1 that killed SuperSync and reported it. I got a response in email 7 minutes later. After sending in the crash report, I was sent 2.4.2 with the fix 2 hours later. The current demo works fine, please note the (old) version numbers of previous reviews having problems with the demo. I have no connection to the company--just a new customer who gave it a chance even with the low rating on this site.

I've been looking for a way to share my iTunes collection across my computers including my Mac at home and my PC at work. SuperSync makes this possible. It's great to have something that is cross platform. Plus it's easy to set-up and use. I was up and running in 10 minutes and found the interface very intuitive.

I suspect that some folks were upset with the limited features of the demo version, but the full version works fine for me. As a Mac and PC user with a big music collection on iTunes, I needed something that allowed me to share my music remotely. I came upon SuperSync and it really works for me. I can listen to all my music just about anywhere -- on my laptop while I'm on the road, at work, where ever. The interface is easy, robust and intuitive. I'm really happy I discovered a way that allows me to access all my music anywhere I am.

  This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />Good solid program that helps solve the problem of trying to keep track of too much digital music in too many places. If you have music on multiple machines, this is a great application to have. The more music you have, and the better the tags are, the better the product becomes. One heads up-- if you have a lot of untagged music, try to get it well-tagged before using, as this product does not have any MP3 tag editing features. (that would be nice!) Also nice is the ability to access your music library from anywhere on the net when you run the built-in server. Lets you upload and download music from at the office or on the road. This is one of those cool applications that you'll always leave running.
