Publisher's description of Suicide Skateboarding

From ANTi-Ware:

Test your street-skating skills in this intense platform skateboarding game. Each course is filled with ramps, pyramids, gaps, road cones, bottomless pits, deadly spikes, and slippery oil puddles. Each course also has a goal you must meet to continue to the next level. The goal is met by earning and keeping a certain score, which you earn by collecting bonus disks throughout the course. You can get even more points by performing tricks, such as kick-flips and board grabs, as you tag the disks, but you lose 100 points if you hit the road cones. You'll ride through the desert, city, and graveyards and soar through the clouds, but if you crash, you'll have to start the course all over again.

  • Version reviewed: Suicide Skateboarding 1.0
This uninspired, rather humdrum skateboarding game failed to impress us on almost every level. Your simple goal is to skate through a level and gather all the points, dodging various obstacles and performing tricks along the way. However, since you have only three tricks in your arsenal and one life, Suicide Skateboarding gets old fast. The graphics and sound are rather low-budget and can't be configured. You can't play in full-screen mode or customize the game in any way other than choosing whether to play with the keyboard or a joystick. Curiously, the developer bundles at least 10 extra games with Suicide Skateboarder, which you may think is a bonus or just a nuisance. Small children might have fun with this game, but everyone else will crave a more exciting and polished diversion.
