This game is a gorgeously rendered, space-based shooter made to appeal to flight-sim fans, in which you and your squadron try to defeat an alien invasion. Star Wraith 3 incorporates many features of flight simulators, especially target-orienting functions. The toughest part is not destroying the target but simply keeping it in sight. Flying can be disorienting, because most of the time it's completely dark in front of your plane, which makes it hard to tell whether you are moving forward. Another difficulty is that the enemy concentrates its firepower on your plane, not on your allies'. The enemy also seems to have much more powerful weapons than you do. It took us about 15 minutes to really get into the game, especially considering the rather long spoken tutorial in the Training section. The trial version enables only a couple of missions. This won't be enough to satisfy a space-fighter's action craving once he or she finally masters the gameplay.
