We wanted this game to rock--yet, despite an interesting plot and potential for great action, the graphics and gameplay of this Star Trek adventure were just too awkward to be good. You are the guide to a Vulcan ensign in his quest to solve the mysteries of a hostile alien civilization, and just when you get into the action, the game...ends. The demo only allows one level of play, and you can't save games. What's more, we had a hard time controlling our character. Keyboard controls aren't very intuitive, and there's no option to change them. The 3D graphics, in comparison to most computer games, are fairly simplistic and blocky. Characters are crude, and the world lacks realistic details. Star Trek fans who dig the story may be able to see past the stale look, but we think this game could use an upgrade to bring it to warp speed.Publisher's description
From Activision Value :Plunged into the wake of the events following Star Trek: Insurrection, you find yourself embroiled in a plot to harness the destructive powers of a coveted genetic seed. You must engage alien forces and outwit your foes in a series of challenging missions or the Federation will fall victim to its ruthless archenemy.
Explore a mysterious, ancient Star Trek civilization, lushly recreated in immense 3D-rendered environments. Take on foes with deadly weapons, such as phasers and--for the first time ever--the Vulcan Nerve Pinch. Follow orders from Captain Picard, using your Tricorder and Communicator to gather helpful facts. The game's mission-based action welcomes players of all ability levels in an adventure of stealth and combat.

Version: Star Trek: Hidden Evil demo
Summary: The game would have been very good, if it had not been for the fact that the graphics were blocky, the movement controls left a LOT to be desired, and the demo only had one level.

""Alone In The Dark" in the 23rd century"
Summary: Blocky looking characaters, poor interface for shooting and moving, and silly dialogue. If these things appeal to you by all means go out and get this game; if not, avoid it like the plague. This game had to have been developed by the same company... read more >>
