Publisher's Description
From Tempest Solutions:
Stamp renames digital camera photos so they sort in chronological order. Stamp extracts the date/time each photo was originally shot from camera-generated EXIF metadata and then adds a timestamp to the beginning of each filename. After running Stamp you can sort your photos and videos by filename to view them in true chronological order even if they come from different cameras. Stamp can also download photos and videos directly from most cameras.

"does NOT time stamp photos"
Version: Stamp 2.6
Pros
it is free
Cons
it does not time stamp photos. It renames the file name which is not a time stamp
Summary
worthless software
-
"Should come with every digital camera!"
Version: Stamp 2.6
Pros
I use this program to rename all the pictures I take. It helps keep things better organized than the HP software that my digital camera came with. It even has more features and versatility than the HP software (for naming files). The HP software would not let me change the format of the file name. Great program, very small.
Cons
Not very user friendly. The interface could use a more "Stamp 2.6 for dummies" feel. I understand the program well, but my wife won't touch it (make me do it for her).

"Excellent and succint"
Version: Stamp 2.6
Pros
This programs is short, sweet and does exactly what it needs to... no frills to hinder the execution. Extracts EXIF data to rename your photos and if you're like everyone else... you should have a nillion of digital photos by now. Even has a help function that fully explains the different filters for digi newbies.

Cons

"only renamer to use EXIF date & reset counter when day changes"
Version: Stamp 2.6
Pros
I needed a renamer to do the following:
day1-photo1
day1-photo2
day2-photo1 ( not day2-photo3 )
This was the only one that could do it. And it also allows you to set the format of the day (yymmdd) and the counter (##).
Cons
None.

"A must have"
Version: Stamp 2.6
Summary
This is a no-brainer. Stamp sets the foundation for managing large sets of images. I shoot around 20,000 pictures a year and couldn't live without it. At first you might not "get" the way it names files but it'll make sense pretty quickly. Somewhere on their site you can find a good whitepaper on how to organize your images. (Did I mention it's never crashed or messed with an image?)
