"Cannot add space between words, limited tagging"
Version: Stamp ID3 Tag Editor 2.34
Pros
You get what you pay for.
Cons
Very limited support for editing wav file metadata, also known as tagging. You cannot add a space between words. If you tap the space bar it will play the song you are trying to edit instead of adding a space. You cannot write you own genre, you must choose from a generic genre list. You also cannot write your own category, you must choose from a generic list. I didn't even try the other file formats that it claims to support (mp3, flac etc) because I was extremely disappointed with its lack of good wav support. Installed and uninstalled in less than 10 minutes.
Summary
you get what you pay for.

"Quick and easy"
Version: Stamp ID3 Tag Editor 2.32
Pros
Fast to apply changes and easy to navigate
Cons
Can't customise displayed columns, e.g. Artist, Album
-
"Very Good; a perfect solution may not exist"
Version: Stamp ID3 Tag Editor 2.32
Pros
Allows you to edit the track name and the ID3 fields.
Cons
Cannot do bulk changes like Microsoft's old MPLAYER did; that is, add or update common fields in a selected string of tracks and leave the others as is ... This feature is important enough to want to revert to XP and the old MS player.
Summary
Valuable tool

"Hijacks the Context menus"
Version: Stamp ID3 Tag Editor 2.04
Pros
Unfortunately there was nothing I did like about this program.
Cons
The installation program hijacked my Context menus without asking for my permission.
Summary
This program ran successfully on Windows 98. But it hijacked the Context menus without asking me for permission, so I uninstalled it. I was evaluating this as a tag editor for mp3's: it does nothing beyond what other id3 tag editors already do, and others are more customiseable.

"Have used NCH tools for years love all their program"
Version: Stamp ID3 Tag Editor 2.04
Pros
Edit a whole cd in one click
Cons
none, I haven't found any

"Awsome! LuV it ! 4 digital rem Mp3 encoding."
Version: Stamp ID3 Tag Editor 2.04
Pros
My Studio Engineer digitally remasters our old tracks. The embedding of info by him is not detailed. We needed to embed pix; providing virtual/material evidence of Copyr in our case; in addition I can embed the actual Copyright info.
Cons
Should be a special place just for the word protected. Should be in the copyr space?) I noticed that even when I go back to my regular files and check properties on a track, and even if read only is unselected, that I can not change the copyr info..
Summary
I think that their should be a place specifically for the word protected, but who can complain? It was free.. Thank you!

"Toolkit loaded software identified as a trojan"
Version: Stamp ID3 Tag Editor 2.02
Pros
I found the core program worked as described
Cons
Toolkit goes online and loads virus
-
"It's Free and it works, nothing fancy."
Version: Stamp ID3 Tag Editor 2.02
Pros
Does what it says.
Cons
Ho Hum features
-
"You enter it one item at a time"
Version: Stamp ID3 Tag Editor 1
Pros
None.
Cons
Substantial add-on's that really are not required, or useful. Included are a music converter that allows you to convert various music types to mp3. It was not well executed and was very slow at the conversion process. Additionally, it tries to include some other files that there is simply no need for.
Worst, however, is that in order to make adjustments, it requires a lengthy and difficult to use interface so that you can update the ID3 tags ONE AT A TIME. The interface was so bad that it is faster--substantially faster--to edit the ID3 tags manually with WinAmp or Windows Media Player. I recommend avoiding this product in favor of something more substantial--particularly when editing more than one song at a time.

"Overall, it's Okay"
Version: Stamp ID3 Tag Editor 1
Pros
Works, and is fairly efficient
Cons
Can't type in your own Genre (you have to pick from the list), and Tends to lag and Crash. Throws away all previous information on both tags.
