Water simulations, with their complex distortions of space and shadow, are among the most impressive achievements of computer animation. Sqirlz Water Reflections adds a basic waterlike effect to any image or AVI video, but we find the confusing interface undermines its appeal. The main window offers no obvious tips or help files, and in our tests, the process of adding the effects presented unforeseen stumbling blocks that made it difficult to complete. Users can customize the water simulations, specifying wave strength, separation, and brightness, as well as adding transparency and the illusion of underwater ripples. But anyone seeking this potentially lovely output must be prepared for headaches in learning and using the tool.Publisher's description
From Xiberpix :Add pools of water to any image or AVI video. The pools, which can be of any shape, can be animated to give gentle rippling reflections of the scene above them. Choose from a variety of ripples, and control details such as wave size, perspective, flow, texture, color and transparency. Rain and snow effects can be added. Animations can be saved as Macromedia Flash (SWF) files, AVI video clips, animated GIF files, and bitmap/jpeg/png/tiff files.
In this version: can now load AVI files which use XviD, x264vfw (and other) codecs. Ring ripples can now be added to existing AVI videos which are of long duration as well as short.

Version: Sqirlz Water Reflections 2.6
"A nice'n easy way to add life to my backgrounds"
Pros: I like doing family animations,using a mix of 3D characters and 2D pictures (bone animated), on a video (usually unstable) or PNG image background. Squirlz Water Reflections is just perfect to improve my images. Starting is almost self explanatory.
Cons: If starting is easy, advancing is not that fast. Some advanced features allowing to customize the work are difficult to control or learn to. And some show limitations or don't render well.
Summary: Overall, I like this product, instantly solved me a problem I had for sometime at no cost and little effort. Kept at its basic funtions is just perfect. Begginers will probably love it. As for pros, I have my doubts...

"I love it will continue to use it"
Pros: I haven't found any problems using this one nor even using the settings its easy and it does have some suggestions that will pop up and suggest what to use. If your not sure work with it. First time I used it, fell right into place had no problems
Cons: When you lower the number of frames the flow of the water or snow it does tend to jump and not run a smooth rain. It could be I'm just trying different things with it I might have it to low on the settings, this is if your saving it as a gif file
Summary: I love it and will continue to use it. Would recommend for beginners and advanced animation artists
