• Saved presentation when my laptop broke and I had to use another one.

  Pros

  Most people do not think about backing up their bookmarks, but if you are on the road and in sales, you can become dependent on them to demonstrate various sites to potential clients. A friend suggested I try this utility and then after I set it up, I had to go on the road and my first sales demo required me to show 30 or so bookmarks. Unfortunately my laptop broke, and I had to use someone else’s and of course my bookmarks were on the broken laptop. Logging into skymarks.net and entering my id and password, listed all my bookmarks and my sales demo went off without a glitch or delay. Sometimes a utility becomes more valuable than you originally think because of unforeseen circumstances and that utility ends up being a lifesaver. I do not know if the publisher intended their system to be used this way, but they should consider letting people know why their utility can be valuable in a variety of situations. I look forward to learning about the sharing component and trying to integrate that into my sales presentation capabilities. <p> <p>P.S. The feature of choosing which favorites folder to use is ideal and I particularly think that the auto-sync feature makes this a plug-play-and forget about it utility that is just there when you need it.

  Cons

  I was a little confused about the desktop application vs the web application. Also, I noticed that every time I opened the desktop component it added a function icon to my system tray (IE6) and I ended up with three or four icons which all did the same thing. I would ask that the publishers consider providing some examples of how they intended it to be used. In my case, I was just lucky that I installed and activated it, but I probably would have given additional thought to how I did it if I understood what the publisher had in mind when they designed it. I would also like to know what enhancements might be on the drawing board and I would really like to know how to sync my bookmarks, without duplicates, from various machines. Frequently I use a laptop and a desktop, and both may or may not have the same bookmarks. I do not think there is any instruction as to how to do this. Does this work with other browsers? Anyone know? I am worried that the trial period is going to end and I won’t be able to use the tool or buy it (since this is missing right now). I would buy it now if I could so that I don’t get in a situation where I don’t have access to it.

  Pros

  Very simple interface and download process. The features that the publishers say have, work just as they describe it. Usable right now and worth more than $19.95. One of those little utilities that many people have that after a month or so you can't imagine not having it. I think as I use it more, I will find the "share" feature invaluable. Simple design that did not require using help.

  Cons

  The biggest concern has to do with things that I would like to see in a product like this, but which are not there (but then this is this case with most new products). Biggest concern is the lack of a publisher privacy statement to ensure that my information is secure and I would really like to select the bookmark folders on my desktop that I want to store on the server.
