"Impossible to register - don't waste your time"
Version: SkinVariant 1.4
Pros
Half decent looking skins, although a bit patchy round the corners.
Cons
Mediocre skins, misleading license terms and no method to actually purchase/register the product!
Summary
Not overly impressive skins - especially when the product is advertised on Cnet as costing $50. However, clicking the 'register' button on the very irritiating and almost constant nag screen I was informed that the software cost only $30.
However - two very big 'but's coming up...
The $30 license only permits you to use SkinVariant to skin ONE software product. If you produce 10 software products and wanted to skin them all it would cost $300! Quite how you're limited isn't revealed - or even whether it's down to honesty.
The second big 'but' is that clicking the 'purchase' link sends you to a 404 error page! There is no link or method to enable anyone to actually purchase the software, so all you're left with is a non functioning demo!
Save your time - don't bother downloading. The author has obviously left the building.
