CNET Editors' review
Take down all those annoying yellow reminder papers off your office wall and keep them neatly organized on your computer desktop. Simple Sticky Notes lives up to its title by providing a simple way of reminding yourself of important notes.
This free program embeds itself in the system tray and offers very little beyond the capability to make and sort notes, which is perfectly fine with us. From the tray, users create a new note, which pops up as a look-alike yellow Post-it note. However, this one can have its color changed and its transparency adjusted thanks to the pull down menu at the top of the note. The size can also be adjusted on the note, but that's the end of the formatting options.
The tray menu gives users the opportunity to show all notes and sort them to stay organized. While the notes aren't automatically stacked on top of one another, but staggered, this is still a great way to look at notes that have been minimized and forgotten. While we would have liked to have seen an alarm system like some other sticky note programs provide, we have no complaints with Simple Sticky Notes' straightforward system and its fine way of keeping notes for free.

"better than many other sticky notes programs"
Version: Simple Sticky Notes 2.0
Pros
simple, light, updated regularly
Cons
nothing to say. This software is all I need for recording tiny information notes
Summary
I've tried several other sticky notes software like windows sticky notes, 7sticky notes but they were like crap to me. Evernote is a good option, but I don't like to download such a heavy-sized program.
In short, this is a must-have program on every PC I use. -

"I personally prefer regular text editors"
Version: Simple Sticky Notes 2.0
Pros
It allows the posting of notes. A lot of people like to work that way: with little notes and reminders. I personally prefer desktop text editors where I would have all of my notes in a single file and then I would search in that single file for what I need. For example: if I want to look at information about whatever I would use the Find function in the program to find them. Therefore I use a MS Word file. I use CesarUSA Text Editor BS too since it gives me extra tools to work with lists that I could sort and where I could eliminate duplicates. I also type in it since it provides autocompletion and spell checking. If I noticed that I misspelled a name of whatever I would do a Find and Replace and fix in the whole document, but with loose notes I would need to fix them in all of them.
Cons
Loose notes. I prefer all in one place and fix the errors in all of the matches.
Summary
I prefer one single file instead of several loose notes. I use two reminder program instead of loose notes. I use Desktop-Reminder 2, but it seems like it uses a lot of memory, and I use Efficient Reminder Free, but it bundles all reminders with new ones, and that makes it harder to concentrate in the current reminder.
Instead of using a bunch of little notes I prefer to have word processing files and I will name each of them as needed. I would use the CesarUSA Text Editor to quickly open my favorite folders and find the files quickly.
