If it worked, I'd be ecstatic because my HDMI digital 5.1 audio hasn't worked for 5 months since the Sony update.

Attempted installation however an error prevented installation from completing ("ExitError: Error = Device Object not present, restart the system and run setup again.")
I restarted and ran setup again, same problem. Any help would be appreciated!Summary
Others have had success with this, so there must be something I'm missing. I've also tried updating the driver directly using the INF file but I receive a Windows error message stating "A device attached to the system is not functioning."

I have a Sony VGN-FZ460E. After Upgrading to Windows 7, HDMI Audio did not work. I had to use external speakers.

Finally after almost a year, WITHOUT Sony support, these drivers worked like a champ. Bottom line. You willl have to downgrade your driver to get this to work. I tried the Vista Drivers for sony but they did not work. These are Older drivers from Dell, and they work for my Sony. Who would think. Thanks CNET

O have a Sony VGNFZ4400.The Hdmi audio would not work when I upgraded to Win7. This is a big problem foe Sony users on the net when we upgrade to Win7 clean install. Sony seemed to enjoy not helping us. It was clear they were not going to help. No wonder they are having problems. I am back to Dell. I talked to 10 service reps no help and I had their 450.00 extended service. It leaves a real bad taste. I had to use Dell drivers

use of the older audio drivers from 2007 work because WIN 7 is essentially Win XP on steroids. So don't use the 2008 vista drivers from the DELL website when you upgrade from Vista to Win7
