"Don't get fooled by the ancient look; it's superb"

    June 08, 2014   |   By adkrish22290

    Version: SeaMonkey 2.25

    Pros

    * Stable, doesn't crash or hang
    * Fast and responsive
    * User friendly
    * Unlike Firefox, it allows users to log in to Facebook, eBay or mail accounts without giving warning
    * Customisable; the Modern theme especially makes the browser look less old and eye appealing

    Cons

    * Most Firefox add-ons (barring a few such as Adblock Plus) are not compatible with SeaMonkey
    * Design looks ancient (it resembles the oldest versions of Firefox); won't appeal to all

    Summary

Don't be fooled by its ancient design folks. This browser is seriously fast and stable. It's faster than Firefox and much more user friendly than Google Chrome or Internet Explorer (and even Firefox Australis).

For those who want to escape from Firefox Australis, but still want a Firefox-based browser, this one is for you.

"Excellent - needed to replace netscape 7.2 on windows 8"

    December 02, 2013   |   By Renep57

    Version: SeaMonkey 2.20

    Pros

I make a very small simple rabbit rescue website using html and netscape 7.2. I just couldn't figure a way of continuing to update this once without all the hassle of either writing everything out or transferring to an alternative such as wordpress or similar. So far it seems to work as easily as before.

    Cons

Can't think of any as this solved my problem. However if you need a more up to date website and are starting from the ground up it may not be the ideal solution for you.

"Very Nice (editor works for me)"

    May 23, 2013   |   By Myhrddin

    Version: SeaMonkey 2.17.1

    Pros

Not sure why the other reviewer can't get the editor to work. I use it regularly to update pages or even make new ones and no worries. I don't make anything really fancy so maybe that's why its fine for me.
I love that its quick, secure, plenty of add-ons and extensions to customize it just how you like it. Great email client and yes, the html composer for making or editing web pages.

    Cons

I don't have much bad to say really. You do have to be careful with the Privacy tool as you can clear out your cookies or passwords without an extra warning But, if you've checked those at the tick window and then clicked clear now at the bottom, maybe ya shouldn't have done it when you were in a hurry.?.! :)
One thing that I've had trouble with in Any browser lately relates to coupon.com coupon printing, aint workin' in Seamonkey either right now :( Hope that gets rectified soon though. If it works in firefox, it has the same engine in this Mozilla product too.! Everything else though, just call me Super Happy Fun Customer!

    Summary

I'm so thankful that Seamonkey is around as the most direct successor to Mosaic / Netscape and that its really still a force to be reckoned with. Fast, elegant, great privacy controls as well as having everything I need online in one well-designed application. Looks great with the iCandyJr theme from Aaron Spuler using Foood's icons.!

    "HORRIBLE editor"

    April 30, 2013   |   By ThirdDay--2008

    Version: SeaMonkey 2.17.1

    Pros

Well, it's free, but that's about it.
You get what you pay for.

    Cons

Nothing is truly free, it all comes with some cost. The cost of attempting to use this as a web editor is that it doens't work. I can't even get it to open an existing file. I'm a professional web developer and use all kinds of software all day long. This is junk!

    "Does a great job"

    March 27, 2013   |   By crevindioux

    Version: SeaMonkey 2.16.2

    Pros

    - Integrated e-mail client does everything well
    - Lateral bar is the best for someone who regularly needs to make searches
    - Now saving in the mht format (not html) is fully compatible with other browsers and believe me I have tested it tens of times
    - Everything can be customized
    - Allows you to evade Internet advertising, even without intrusive add-ons like Adblock -just edit your preferences in Tools/ cookies or Tools/ popup windows)

    Cons

    - I needed a long time to fully understand all it can do
    - Setting email accounts' setup really correctly has taken me much time (you need to setup each account, for the outgoing and the ingoing part. It could by default suppose that settings are just the same).
    - Private browsing is missing
    - Some Firefox extensions don't work on Seamonkey

    Summary

All in all as said above it works great.
It is now my default browser.

    Version: SeaMonkey 2.15.2

    Cons

    I'd Like to seed a 64-bit version.

    Summary

Good choice for the professional use, and it's FREE.

    "Now my favorite browser!"

    November 15, 2012   |   By ComputerLuvr

    Version: SeaMonkey 2.13.2

    Pros

    Fully customizable and it's fast!
Love that I can use Firefox's Personas with it. :)

    Cons

    None at all

    Summary

A top notch browser. I use FF as a back up. This browser is the Father of Firefox so to speak. Both SeaMonkey and Firefox are THE BEST browsers I have ever used. I use SeaMonkey now for my everyday use. Love it!

"If you are pissed off with Firefox, get Seamonkey"

    September 23, 2012   |   By mugen10

    Version: SeaMonkey 2.12.1

    Pros

Great browser, faster than firefox, no fancy/apple look which hurts my eyes. Seriously, my eyes hurts more after firefox updates. No or Not much certificate problem. Best browser since original Mozilla browser is gone.

    Cons

doesnt work with 0.1% of websites I visited

    Summary

Seamonkey is just like old Mozilla Browser, I used to use firefox until firefox changes: new looks, right click open in new tab position, and Certificate error - can't go to ebay, paypal, shopping online, etc. Seamonkey doesn't have any of these problems. I only use Seamonkey now with IE & Firefox as backup.
