This program allows you to assign passwords to the programs stored on your PC, although some functionality issues raise concerns. SaveIt has a basic interface to quickly browse your program files and assign individual passwords to access them. You'll also be able to grant permission for particular users to gain entry to any application. While it successfully protects our browser and some other programs during our tests, there are a few file extensions it can't support. However, it politely informs you of these occurrences. Some areas of SaveIt aren't as user-friendly as we'd like either. For instance, you can't access the program's options to configure it or remove protection without opening the protected program, then accessing the options from the system-tray icon. Also, you can't minimize SaveIt; you either add a program for protection or shut it down all together. Other than these few quirks, this free utility does keep unauthorized users out of many of your programs.Publisher's description

SaveIt offers your the possibility to password-protect nearly every Windows-program against it s execution. You may appoint on which computer the program may be executed or of whom. Also you may select if this user must have administration rights or if he must not have them. Of course, and this is SaveIt s fortitude, you can use your programs like you are used to use them; open it links or documents. New in this version is the possibility to protect programs and publish them by, for example, internet or CD-Roms; without SaveIt needs to be installed (only stand-alone-applications). This option just needs the Microsoft .NET Framework, which is installed on nearly every newer computer. Version 3 has new feature of SaveIt is the possibility to publish your protected application (for example setup or self-extracting archive) by internet or CD; the user does not need an installed version of SaveIt, only Microsoft .NET.

Version: SaveIt 3
Pros: Nice program easy to use.
Cons: The truth is that you dont even need a password protection program for files for window operating systems that are relativly new.Maybe 2000 or above all have the compact file folders that can have a password added to them.
