it works as far as speeding up internet browsing

installed a tool bar (called smartbar) after unchecking that box and made my pages just keep loading and loading and had other hicups and cant be found under programs and features to uninstall..had to do a system restore :(

its a win loose take it at your own risk to download....ended up not liking the other features i did not want on my pc.i hate tool bars and the hicups it had with it !!!!!
My internet connection was already optimized in WinXP.

Many people complain about Slow Internet but never realise that they need to set-up their PC to receive and send at higher speed as well.

4 x Broadband speed I was getting.

It has a bit of an advanced technical UI, so if you don't know what your doing, (like me) it could be easy to do something wrong. However, I only ticked the "Optimal" button, and used the slider to say what my Mbps should be, and that was all, it worked an absolute treat, all I seem to do is speed tests.

easy (really, even a novice can do this (ie my parents) fast results (one click did the trick amazingly) tiny program size (.5MB) but powerful capability good for geek or novice bc there are really advanced options or the simple one click.

don't know most of what the program can do so i just hit optimize in settings and boom 4X as fast internet speed when i do the same tests (cnet bandwidth meter) that i did before i installed this a few minutes before. ATT Uverse 12mbps is what i'm paying for and i was only getting 3mbps since i signed up, but after a few seconds using this simple program, i average 12mbps now with the test. it's nice to see actual results. i don't see how i can milk anymore out of my speed seeing that i'm at my limit with AT&T. And i don't see a point in having something faster because i bet my computer isn't fast enough to load the graphics to keep up with higher speeds anyway even though i have a ip4 processor and 3.25GB RAM.

Download speed actually dropped after "optimizing". Can't figure out how to restore backup. The potential for disaster is great. Experienced two bsods while carrying out system restore and computer won't start the first time it restarted.

No definitive evidence any of the tweaks help to improve speeds. No advice on the downside risks to "tcp optimizing". Non-experts should stay on the straight and narrow, and avoid this product.

Small and easy. Set it and forget it. I simply set the slide bar to my connection speed, chose "optimum", then let it reboot. A noticable improvement.
