CNET Editors' review
This well-designed program tests and improves your Internet connection speed, but it needs an experienced operator.
SG TCP Optimizer's compact, tabbed interface logically presents all settings and tests. We found SG TCP Optimizer efficient from the moment it quickly opened. The six tabs presented general and advanced settings, a tool to discover your system's largest possible nonfragmented packet, a calculator to figure your RWIN value, a latency test, and a quick Windows Registry editor. If you have no idea what those settings do, this program isn't for you. If you do have some experience, a short tutorial helps you quickly discover and enter the proper Registry settings to improve connection speed.
Settings are easily saved in backup files, making it easy to try different settings and revert if you accidentally slow connection speed. The help file gives basic information, although it's nothing a system administrator doesn't know.
Novices, on the other hand, shouldn't bother with this application. Its many settings, though easily changed, could cause serious system slowdowns if improperly altered. System administrators and advanced users will love this freeware's small size, powerful functions, and helpful tests.

"My internet connection was already optimized in WinXP."
Version: SG TCP Optimizer 3.0.8
Pros
An extremely small package for the punch it can deliver.
Cons
None at all
Summary
My connection speed is an old low speed DSL no longer offered by Qwest or CenturyLink, 256Kb/s. All the settings were already optimized or wouldn't make a significant difference.

"Absolutely Essential"
Version: SG TCP Optimizer 3.0.8
Pros
Many people complain about Slow Internet but never realise that they need to set-up their PC to receive and send at higher speed as well.
Cons
Could do with a in-depth instruction manual for people who don't understand TCP/IP etc.

"Fantastic piece of software!!"
Version: SG TCP Optimizer 3.0.8
Pros
4 x Broadband speed I was getting.
Cons
It has a bit of an advanced technical UI, so if you don't know what your doing, (like me) it could be easy to do something wrong. However, I only ticked the "Optimal" button, and used the slider to say what my Mbps should be, and that was all, it worked an absolute treat, all I seem to do is speed tests.
Summary
A MUST HAVE DOWNLOAD FOR FASTER BROADBAND SPEEDS, A******************
Thanks CNET, keep up the good work.
