Publisher's description
From Returnil :Returnil virtualization technology clones a computer's System Partition and boots the PC into this system rather than native Windows, allowing you run your applications in a completely isolated and secure environment. All activity is then performed within the virtual environment, ensuring that the operating system itself cannot be compromised by viruses, other malicious software, bad installations or user error. A simple reboot is all that is required to return the PC to its original state. To ensure that no viruses are present in the virtual system, Returnil Virus Guard scans the system during the installation of Returnil Virtual System.

Version: Returnil Virtual System 2010 Home Free 3.1.7779.5174
"Probably not for "Non Technical" users."
Pros: Good Surfing protection, and good protection from infected downloads.
More fully featured and more complicated than the previous version.Cons: Although the old version was stable on my old XP machine, this version has caused crashes and problems on my Windows 7 system( have Uninstalled it)
Summary: This is not the easiest of software for the non technical home user.
If you have good" conventional"security ,and mainly require the sandboxed Browsing protection afforded by Returnil ( which is probably adequate for most home users)you can get... read more >> -
Version: Returnil Virtual System 2010 Home Free 3.1.7779.5174
"Works flawlessly in W7. Stable and light."
Pros: Stable and light on resources. Works well in W7. Essential for surfing safe.
Cons: Requires restart. Does not protect disk partitions.
Summary: Stable and light on resources. No problems in restart and start up. Previous versions had lot of stability problems even damaged the system in my computers. This version is very good when run under W7. The approach to security is unique. It is an ey... read more >>

Version: Returnil Virtual System 2010 Home Free 3.1.7779.5174
"worst thing I have gotten here"
Pros: easy to download
Cons: dumped my blue tooth software and locked my system up completely
Summary: I am not sure what it was doing, but after installation and a good half hour, of trying to get something to work and of course a total system lock up/ reboot 3 times, I walked away for about 45 minutes and I had a ton of 'messages' from it, and my b... read more >>

Version: Returnil Virtual System 2010 Home Free 3.1.7779.5174
"Not enough documentation for a newb like me."
Pros: Good idea to have a sandbox for installation of new software or browsing dangerous sites.
Cons: It insisted on finding problems with SETI at Home / BOINC files. but the exclude list seemed to be limited to specific programs rather than a folder. I couldn't figure out what the actual folder was because it referred to names with variables in it.
Summary: If it explained what "\DEVICE\HARDDISKVOLUME1\" is I would understand how to set up the ignore list. Get rid of the virus scan and i think it would be better.

Version: Returnil Virtual System 2010 Home Free 3.1.7779.5174
"so efficient and effective i forget it's on the job!"
Pros: So far so good. Installed it a week ago and have made no other program changes to my PC which is running quicker and smoother. That credit must be owed to Returnil Virtual System 2010 Home.
Cons: maybe too user friendly; seems to keep my machine optimised with no user input.i like results of my PC but i'm not sure what the program is doing?!
