"Good product, bad support"

Pros
Does a great job of tracking your time
Has a fluid dashboard with lots of viewsCons
Project time tracking is virtually non-existent

Development seems to focus on social networking and advertising rather than functionality and bug fixesSummary
I have used RescueTime for about half a year and while I like the overall functionality, it is rather limited (for example - you cannot see all of your activities in one view, you have to "drill in" into merged activity groups that the report generates, per application), it does nothing to automatically track projects (it is basically a manual timesheet entry process), there are a number of confirmed bugs that has gone unfixed for months (ex. dashboard activity reporting does not return the same number of records as a pre-defined custom report with the same parameters) and not a single useful feature has been added in over 6 months, instead the company seems to be focusing on social networking and entertainment aspects (ex. social introductions, medals and achievements). This is worth trying if you're just curious about your personal productivity and want to have some fun with your friends, but I would not recommend this as a professional tool. I have cancelled my subscription after 6 months and am forced to look for something more focused on the time and project tracking.

Pros
Rescuetime was the first tracking tool I used to track my time and I found it very effective, it does what it says, tracks you time and shows you where you have spent your time.
Cons
once I found that I had some options when it came to time tracking I realised there was better and more helpful option then resucetime, JournalLive offers better reports with more clarity which makes it more clear where my time is going
Summary
Rescuetime is a good product but if time tracking is what you want I would reccomend using JournalLive, www.journallive.com. Better reporting makes it way easier to gauge and improve your productivity, also if you intend to use a tracking tool in a commercial enviroment JournalLives professional edition gives you all you need to track you employees productivity

I haven't yet evaluated this tool, but I've been interested in obtaining a tool like this one for a while now. It sounds like a great tool for self-assessment. You can't beat the price on it, too.
Cons
I have a lot of concerns regarding security. If RescueTime is collecting data on my computer usage, then how do I know that they are not also recording keystrokes, gathering the contents of incoming packets, etc? Who, besides me, has access to my data? I'd install this in a second, if I had some valid assurances that the data collected would in no way be used against me by RescueTime or some other third-party entity.
