"Excellent 2-D CAD Program, easy and quick to learn."
Version: RealCADD 4.08
Pros
Save as DXF/DWG and open DXF/DWG. Runs on Mac, Linnux, Windows. Very accurate. Very easy and intuitive. Fast. CAD tools well presented and easy to find. Quick to learn. Very good on parallel polycurves and similar. Nice cutting tool. Good price.
Cons
Not good on creating, manipulating curves. No curve smooth-unsmooth.
Summary
I use RealCADD (now version 4.10) professionally on Macs, migrating from ClarisCAD. It does most everything I need to do in 2-D designing large yachts and creating accurate drawings, and also making DXF files for CNC cutting.
It is a bit quirky at times, and Text can be a bit uncertain, but I can live with that. The only thing on my wish-list would be better creation and control of curves, and smooth curves through points. Then it would be near-perfect!
The developer is quick to respond to queries.
I like the program a lot. All the parts (many thousands now) cut from the DXF files have been very accurate and have fitted perfectly. So I have great confidence in the program and feel very comfortable with it. -
"Not usable yet - not shareware"
Version: RealCADD 3.61
Summary

Looks good, but it is not usable yet. The possibilities to seriously test it are limited because the demo version does not allow to save a file. This fact also indicates this software is not shareware but bayware with a very, very limited demo version (it's not really a trial version if you cannot save a file, IMHO) -
"Works better than many PC programs"
Version: RealCADD 3.61
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I've only used it for one day trying it out, but it works pretty good. It flawlessly imported a DXF file (from an architect) whereas PC programs bungled the import. So I am impressed so far. Price has gone up to $95 versus the $75, but is still competitive with the PC programs. -
"Real Basic CADD"
Version: RealCADD 3.0.5
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Panning a program because the developer speaks French is really ugly. CADD programs are expensive and a $75 alternative is to be encouraged. Sure there are a few words in French here and there, but come on, you whiners, most people who live in other countries have to struggle with English-only software. If you know how to use a CADD program, this one will work for you, and you can create new tools using Real Basic scripts.
