The year is 1830, and you're poised to become a railroad baron, one of the most powerful figures in American history. This high-quality game throws players into the construction of the early transcontinental railways, as the owner of a small railroad company. Careful strategies can bring success, wealth, and power, but only after you overcome the hazards of the frontier. We were impressed by this game's high-detail landscapes, moody retro music, and well-designed interface. Its slow pace might not attract gamers used to action, explosions, and bloody firefights, but for those interested in a detailed, high-quality historical simulation, Railroad Pioneer is on the right track.Publisher's description
From Big Ben Interactive :Welcome to America in the year 1830. Embark into a new world full of adventure, business, power, and money. Brave pioneers set out to conquer the new world with their iron horses. As the owner of a small railroad company, your job is to build America's first transcontinental railroad line. Thanks to perfect planning, keen business know-how and a healthy portion of pioneering spirit, this is your chance to rewrite the history of the United States.
The official demo includes a tutorial and the Pennsylvania mission.

Version: Railroad Pioneer demo
Pros: This game has limitless oportunity for expansion.
Cons: The game has graphics that need improving and a touch up in the programming here and there, especially at the end in a free play type mode that makes a 4.0Ghz feel like a commodore 64.
