RadarNow! is a free app for Android devices that displays the latest local weather radar with smooth animation against high-quality map backgrounds.
Pros
Fumble-free: Golfing? Bicycling? Strolling? Shopping? RadarNow! displays radar data as soon as you open it, so it's a great app for field duty or any time your hands aren't quite free.
Travel aid: With a few pinches and swipes, RadarNow! can zoom in or out to display any radar coverage available on its map.
Options: The app's settings include range rings, temperatures, radar stations, autoplay, and much more. NWS alerts let you know when you need to check the radar, too.
Force center map: The Driver option moves the location icon to the center of the screen whenever location is updated.
Cons
Resource-intensive: While RadarNow! is probably the most efficient way to view online radar data, downloading, displaying, and updating animated weather radar maps makes heavy use of system resources.
Ad-supported: Banner ads keep RadarNow! free but they too use up device resources and could be put to better use in rendering animated radar maps.
Bottom Line
You can see the clouds and feel the change in the weather: You just need to know where the storm is, where it's going, and how fast. RadarNow! does just that, and with a minimum of fuss.
