RS232 Hex Com Tool is a software terminal program that can be used to communicate with just about any RS232 device. RS232 Hex Com Tool is easy to use and multiple RS232 setups can be saved with unique names and later retrieved. RS232 Com Tool can transmit or receive data in either Hex or ASCII. Change mode by clicking the transmit or receive label.

Options include: cut and paste, COM1-COM60, any baud from 1-1000000+, bytes per line, choice of non-print character display options, log to file, easy scripting feature with delays. RS232 Hex Com Tool can be used with USB/RS232 hubs and does not replace the serial driver. Features: Quick click window, auto detect hardware, auto add bytes, delay between bytes, add and calculate checksum and Modbus CRC, stay on top, change window transparency, main and right click menu additions.

Pros
Very useful for serial I/O monitor, debug and control. Saves a lot of time when writing firmware. No better product on the market today that performs these functions. End up with better understanding of system serial interfaces and less bugs.
Cons
No negatives as far as I am concerned.
Summary
Simple and easy to use, helps to debug srial communication problems, and is worth every penny. I have used this product for nearly 10 years, and have recommended it to many people, all have been happy.

I have used RS232 Hex Com Tool on a variety of embedded projects. After setting the options, you can copy and paste the incomming data easily from the main window to Excel or just a text file. There are plenty of options, including custom baud rates and saving setups, which I use often. This program is easier and more usefull than any other program of it's kind I have used including Look RS232 and Docklight.

The software breaks up the data so you cannot copy and paste it into other documents without having to remove all the added newline characters. No shortcuts to opening and closing ports. Not many features.

Pros
I used version 5.0 to troubleshoot PIC18F252 micro communication with great success, particularly the script feature for loading strings and running procedures. The custom baud ability came in handy also for checking osc frequency. <p>The new quick click window is even faster to send strings. Just make a file, import it and double click any string to send.

I was at a plant in mexico city trouble shooting a rf interface and needed to send 6 different strings in hex format. I went on the internet and found your app. It worked great and allowed me to troubleshoot the interface and test new commands. My customer is happy and also plans to purchase a copy.

Summary
I used this program to send messages to an embbeded Controller for a telecom project. I sent Ascii and hex messages with accuracy and ease. It's also easy to save the response strings. Keep up the good work!
