CNET Editors' review
This program is supposed to block pop-up windows and Flash ads, and that's exactly what RIP Killer Popup Blocker does. After a quick installation, it automatically opens an HTML help file telling you how the program works and where to find it on your computer. The program installs as a toolbar in Internet Explorer. It blocks pop-ups without even opening them. You can select a new WAV sound for blocked pop-ups, and the program also counts the number of pop-ups blocked and keeps a log. Moreover, it can clear your Internet cache, including temporary files and cookies. The Quick Set tool lets you decide which multimedia file types to block; you then can block and unblock all selected types with the click of a toolbar button. RIP Killer Popup Blocker suits home users who want a bit of privacy protection thrown in with their pop-up blockers.Publisher's Description

"One of those BAD experiences.........The kind you write about."
Version: RIP Killer Popup Blocker 3.12
Pros
Nothing. Not a thing. Nada.
Cons
As a Windows XP home user, I once again had to reinstall my operating system. This tool did nothing to stop pop ups. It installed with an error, and also couldn't uninstall because of an error. My computer would start, but it would never reach the point where I could log in. I just got the terror of the empty blue screen. I couldn't even get it to start in safe mode. Nor would it start up the CD rom with the system disk in it. What a mess. All because of annoying pop ups in Internet Explorer. The IE pop up stopper under "tools" wasn't working for some reason and thats what started this whole thing. I use IE 6 because I found that IE 7 isn't compatible with XP. From now on its Firefox for me. Besides ignoring pop ups, keeping my computer from starting, and failing to load my operating system, it never showed up on my tool bar like it was supposed to. BAD TOOL! SHAME ON YOU! IF I COULD, I WOULD TEAR YOU APART, ONE OBJECT ORIENTED PLACEMENT AT A TIME, AND DUMP YOU IN THE NEAREST WASTE TREATMENT FACILITY. See there? It drove me crazy. If I were you I would not download this tool.

"this blocker & their tech support SUCKS!"
Version: RIP Killer Popup Blocker 3.12
Summary
This blocker worked pretty good for about 36 hours then I started getting more popups than b4 I downloaded it. Their Techies blamed adware which I have protection against and offered NO help for their inferior product. Download size is mis-leading. Took almost 1 hr with dialup.

"this program ruined my computer!"
Version: RIP Killer Popup Blocker 3.12
Summary
I tried downloading this program to get rid of constant popups I receive on my computer, but instead this thing totally wiped out my OS and wrecked the system! It also installed microsoft.net framework which wrecked my computer even more. What a piece of junk!! I have an old computer and I think that before someone writes these reviews/releases these programs they should check more carefully on older OS and computer versions and give a better warning. I had to pay a large fee to get it fixed because it had way too much damage on it. Not cool at all...
