If you want to download an entire Web site or just a portion of one for offline reading, this is the app for you. QuadSucker/Web is a multithread downloader optimized for graphics, text, sound, and app files. The download was a little slow, but installation ran quickly. This app has a nicely arranged interface that fosters easy and intuitive use. When downloading an entire site, the interface's multiple panes reflect the activity in each thread, and the graphics appear in each pane as the download progresses.

The app performed very quickly in our tests. QuadSucker/Web met each challenge, whether we downloaded an entire site with many pages and an abundance of image files, or chose just a single page from a very extensive site. This shareware app presents a nag screen at launch, but that's a minor irritation for such fine performance. Any user interested in offline viewing and reading will find QuadSucker/Web a handy tool.

"didnt help me download site with cookies"

by angelntini on July 4, 2008

Pros: It seems to be a good Web site downloader, but there are also many others which are really free, why bother with this one?

Cons: In the beginning I liked the fact that it has a built-in cookie tracking that allows you to download sites that use cookies to try to prevent automated downloading. At the same time it was very easy to use, as you only had to do was to press the form button. But unfortunatelly, that didnt work...

    "Fast, simple, intuitive, works great!"

by Sparkzzz on November 28, 2006

Pros: Wow! It does exactly what you want, with a simple, intuitive interface. ZERO learning curve. Type in the web address, select whether you want to save one page or whole web site(s), and watch it blaze through the process. I downloaded an entire online book in about 30 seconds.

The default settings work great, but there are lots of settings available if you need them. Lots of clever and handy specialized features (like being able to download your entire Bookmarks List).

If you register (for less than the other guys), you get lifetime updates and support for QuadSucker AND lifetime access and support for a number of other programs at SB-Software.com. Where else do you get THAT deal?

    QuadSucker has an uninstaller.

SB Software has a No Spyware, No Adware policy, and states "I maintain a strict privacy policy -- I do not share information about those who download or purchase my products with anyone".

SB Software appears to really be a "class act". Bill Gates could learn a thing or two.

Cons: There is nothing to dislike about this product. It might be nice to be able to create a unique download folder for each site from the main window (without going into the settings), and the name could be improved, but who's complaining? It's a great program.

"Fast, No nonsense, Easy to use, Cheap"

by sylvainl on June 29, 2007

Pros: I tested a number of Offline Web Capturing software while I was on a time crunch. The others were far more nicer to look at but had a number of elements which I didn't like such as proprietary archives, slowness, unclear download feedback. This one is simple to figure out (took me a few minutes only), is very fast, and downloads directly without having to deal with proprietary methods. You can also see what you download, which is a plus.

It is also nice to be able to test this software without limitations either in features or in duration of the test period.

Finally, this is one inexpensive piece of software. It is cheaper than the others AND it includes unlimited updates AND it includes all of the other utilities that the author has created.

This one is an easy choice.

    Cons: Two things I don't like :

    1. The nagging box while using the unregistered version. It is one thing to remind/nag us to register, but it is another not to be able to remove the reminder/nagger. This is annoying if not downright insulting. If the software wasn't that strong in positive features, this would be enough to turn me off from it.

    2. Not a biggie, but the name is awful. Firstly it does not reflect what it does. Secondly, I can't recommend a piece of software with a name like that to others however good it is. If the author reads this, he may want to reconsider the name strictly for marketing reasons.

Neither are biggies ; they are simply limitations (turn-offs) that only impact the marketability (hence the author). They will not prevent me from buying it. It is this good.
