Publisher's Description
From Jean-Matthieu:
PureFTPd Manager is a simple Cocoa frontend to PureFTPd, "a free (BSD), secure, production-quality and standard-conformant FTP server based upon Troll-FTPd," for Mac OS X.
What's new in this version: It's really a very small update targetting Mac OS 10.6 specifically but you can install it on 10.4 and 10.5 too.

I was waiting for this update: now it works well with Snow Leopard. -
"Up until OS 10.6, flawless and fully featured."
Version: PureFTPd Manager 1.7
Pros
Well written GUI makes the BSD back end useable by non-U*IX folks. Very flexible allowing great control over what is accessed.
Cons
Stopped working under Snow Leopard 10.6.
Summary
No word from developer. Hopefully he'll update this very useful product to be compatible with OS 10.6. I'm crossing my fingers. When it worked it did everything I needed and way more.

"Perfect on OS X Server 10.4"
Version: PureFTPd Manager 1.6.3
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Installation and setup was quick, easy and flawless. Whereas I struggled with trying to set up the native OS X Server ftp service using Server Admin, PureFTPd Manager made it a breeze to set up multiple accounts for my 10 different virtual domains. Highly recommended! Documentation is nicely presented though a bit sparse. -
"Don't screw with anything else"

Rock Solid! Requires basic understanding of unix/osx permissions. Blows away all other servers I've used. -
"Statistics don't really work"
Version: PureFTPd Manager 1.5
Summary

The usage statistics, especially the "Size transfered" field does not show the real amount of traffic... if it's true that some not-so-ethical hackers are involved, that would be a bad thing as generally, this program is an easy approach to pure-ftpd. But in case of an attack, I'll simply move back to command line and leave it at that ;) -
"Gotta love this thing."
Version: PureFTPd Manager 1.4.1

It works well, a littel confusing as it doesn't self explain a lot of FTP stuff. But for free, damn it is a good product. -
"All you need for FTP"
Version: PureFTPd Manager 1.3.5
Summary

This program is a true gem!! Setup is a breeze, the interface is almost flawless, and execution is reliable and consistent.
If you are a newbie like me to FTP (I wanted to set up an FTP server to be able to send files to my ends that were too large for email) and you want to maximize the use of pureFTP (included with this manager package), this is the best product I've seen. Hard to believe that it's free.
Very well thought out interface, and it gives me complete control over the server.
Security is excellent, and I can see in the logs how it handles login attempts, and keeps users out that I don't want.
Definitely 10 thumbs up!
Although there is little up to date documentation (in separate form like pdf), the main screen allows you to surmize most of the set up you need, and with a little digging, and the use of the set up wizard, voila!.
Highly recommended for the use I required it for, and the server is fast! (probably the nature of ftp lol) -
"The Bomb!"

This app is great. Even people like me that don't know anything about setting up servers, will find it easy. -
"Avoid this if you have a current install of..."
Version: PureFTPd Manager 1.3.4
Summary
...pureftpd.

This will break any current pureftpd configuration/install badly by overwriting existing configurations when not told to do so. -
