From Matthias Benkmann:Png2ico is a PNG to icon converter. Converts PNG files to Windows icon resource files. If you're looking for a program to create a favicon.ico for your Web site, look no further. This is a console application without a graphical user interface (that means no icons, no mouse). You have to launch it either from the console or via Start/Run. You cannot just double-click it.

Version: Png2ico 20021208
Pros: this is the program to get if you are wanting to create a favicon.ico for your website. it runs thru a dos (command) prompt, with a comand line like "png2ico favicon.ico mypic.png" You just have to have or create a png of the appropriate size before useing this. But Its FREE, so how can you complain?
Cons: It would be nice if it had a windows, click to run, option. But I',m an old DOS man so I was fairly comfortable with it.

"Disappointed by quality of icons produced."
Pros: I liked the Drag'n Drop feature.
Cons: I tried a large range of png's to convert into ico's but they all came out blurry or with the white parts "blacked" out. I was lot happier with the next one I downloaded on this site, it was called "@icon sushi" v1.21
