Don't let the shady name of this browser-based download manager scare you away. PimpFish makes it a snap to download images and movies with a single click. You also can use it to retrieve MP3s, ZIP files, executables, and embedded videos (Flash, for instance). Helpful filtering options ensure you get only the items you want. You can select image types, specify minimum and maximum file sizes, and even filter out ads and banners. The program can automatically log on to password-protected Web sites, and the new version lets you share online packages of download links (though the publisher's forum is full of junk URLs). The well-designed interface conceals several powerful features, including the ability to save whatever Windows Media Player has going. Powerful and snazzy, PimpFish ought to appeal to anyone who downloads images and files in bulk.
