From Adobe Systems :

This updater file fixes a number of problems discovered after Photoshop CS2 (9.0) was released. With this updater installed Photoshop will no longer hang for several seconds when using painting tools with quick strokes, documents containing a large number of text layers will now open more quickly, palettes (slow redraw, palettes go white, possible crash)will now work properly, TIFF files from certain scanners will be opened correctly. Also, after editing an image in Photoshop CS2 via the TouchUp tool in Adobe Acrobat software, the image will no longer gets repositioned, XMP metadata from AI and PDF files will now be retained in Photoshop, info palette numbers will now be displayed and updated when moving a curve point in Curves via the cursor keys, TIFF and PSB files greater than 2GB will now open properly, and Merge to HDR command will now function properly when using high-ASCII characters in user login.

Version 9.0.1 is a bug fixing release.
