CNET Editors' review
PhotoEchoes allows users to turn their images into a kaleidoscope-style presentation or screensaver. The program is fairly easy to use and has some nice features, making it a good choice for users who enjoy manipulating their photos.
The program's interface is basic and is organized into tabs. Users select the folder or folders that contain the photos they want to use, which can be filtered by file name. Users can optionally include music, although we couldn't get this feature to work; we navigated to the folder that contains our music, but the program didn't recognize it. Users can then customize the kaleidoscope effects that are applied to the images. The results, which can be viewed as a slideshow or set to play as the default screensaver, are like looking at each image through a shifting kaleidoscope. The program's built-in Help file is adequate.
Overall, we liked the way the program worked and thought it had a good variety of features. We especially liked that as users are watching the slideshow, they can press Enter at any time to capture the image on the screen. Thus, if you particularly like one of the effects that the program applies to an image, you can easily save it. Although we were disappointed that we couldn't get the program to play our music, it was otherwise quite enjoyable. PhotoEchoes has a 21-day trial period and puts a watermark on output created with the trial version. The program installs desktop icons without asking but uninstalls cleanly. We recommend this program to all users.

"Very versatile, beautiful kaleidoscope generator"
Version: PhotoEchoes 3.9.002
Pros
Easy to use. Fair variety in parameters. Works well as a screen saver.
Cons
It would be nice to be able to control the speed of the animation, and other
factors on the fly.Summary
Few drawbacks. Works very well. Creates beautiful screens from your photos. I use colorful fractals, moire patterns, and stained glass window pics. Well worth the price.

"Very ,very nice!"
Version: PhotoEchoes 3.6
Pros
Easy to use, great results
Cons
none, just watch out for the size of capture. I did save a few very big pictures at first, but it is just a matter of remembering to use the slider!
Summary
One of my favourites savers, and it does play music for me without fuss - just give it a file with collection of fav tunes. Kaleidoscope part of it is breathtaking if given the right selection of pictures, and capture is easy. It is relaxing and well thought out program - Thank you, Juan!

"Beautiful, Mezmerizing, and Totally Worth a Try! - I am so amazed!"
Version: PhotoEchoes 1.1
Pros
Easy to install and easy use, its the best Kaleidoscope and Screen Saver I've ever seen. It lets you play your MP3 files randomly, or not. It uses your images and you can select which folders to use, it has enhanced display settings, runs as a screen saver or in a window, and produces the most beautiful patterns and images ever, and you can save them. I love this software and have declared it a permanent addition to my "must haves"! Extremely well thought out and executed. 5 Stars is not enough, this is a 10 Star Program. Its Fantastic!
