PDFMerge is the sort of tool we've come to expect from Free PDF Solutions; a streamlined application that essentially makes it as easy as possible to do one job. In the case of PDFMerge, it's merging multiple PDFs into single documents. PDFMerge is based on the PDFSharp library. In addition to being free, PDFMerge's advantages are its small size (572.27KB) and speed. The latest version of PDFMerge, v1.19, has a new user interface. It supports Windows 98 to 8; we ran it on Windows 7.

Optional downloads are as common with freeware as commercials with broadcast TV, and PDFMerge is no exception, though with an emphasis on "optional." We declined the extras and opened PDFMerge's dialog-style graphical user interface, which has four buttons: "Add PDF File," "Remove Selected," and "Remove All," for adding files to the program's main window, and a "Merge Now" button next to the field for choosing a destination folder. All were easy to use, although we were surprised that we couldn't drag and drop files into PDFMerge. Up and Down arrows let us reposition documents within our queue. We started simple with a pair of multipage PDFs. PDFMerge finished the job so quickly we were unaware anything had happened, yet our target folder held the merged PDF, which opened and displayed normally in our default PDF viewer. Much larger batches took longer, of course, but the speed was still impressive, overall. While PDFMerge doesn't offer a Help file or any extras, its Web page includes some instructions and a support link.

If you need more settings or complexity, other PDF tools are available; some of them free, too. But within its scope, PDFMerge is a viable alternative to expensive, complex, all-in-one PDF programs if you just need to merge documents with ease.

Super fast, works like its supposed to. I thought it didn't work when i clicked merge now, so i clicked it again waiting for it to load, then went to my desktop and there was 2 copies of the merged files, 14 files instantly, impressive. Fast easy free, AVG didn't find any malware on this, (made sure i didn't install any third part 'offers')

Lots of crap that normally comes with freeware, if you decline everything during the install, then it installs cleanly. I think you have to add each pdf separately, not sure how to add a full list yet.

Recommend it - Don't see why the others gave it 1 star reviews maybe it was an earlier version, or they failed to decline all the crappy 'offers with install'

unlike many other online tools, this free PDF merge app is simple and easy to use. I could easily merge PDF files with this tool. Merging multiple files can be done in seconds, thanks to this free app. It can be downloaded and installed for free too.

Cons
Tried to install and immediately was asked to install other software which I did not want or need. Worst when I canceled the install another piece of software called Weatherbug was installed onto my pc. Avoid this spyware/adware ridden mess.

I've installed PDFMerge on other machines over the year. I'm always careful to look for and uncheck options for installing other unwanted programs. This time, I unchecked the options to install some extra Yahoo stuff, but lo and behold as soon as I finish installing PDFMerge two programs (Bikiniland and Short Signal or similar) were installed which changed my browser homepage, search engine, and launched all kinds of annoying pops. I manually uninstalled the two new programs and went to reboot to complete the removal. Windows would not start no matter what I tried. Now I'm without a computer and will have to pay to have it fixed. DO NOT install this program!!!! Companies like this should be sued.

It prompts you to install a ton of BS malware. I declined at least three programs, but it still installed one (a 250MB browser that crashed Remove Programs multiple times when I tried to get rid of it). It was installing some .NET upgrade when I got spooked that it was stealing all the content off my computer or something shady because the download was nothing but SHADINESS from the get-go. This should be flagged for removal.

One of the programs it tries to trick you into installing is about blocking "unwanted bundleware," i.e. the exact nuisance the product is advertising it fixes. SCAM.

Firstly you are downloading a downloader 2. the first thing this downloader will try to do is to change EVERYTHING to yahoo 3. Ti will try to trich you into instaling at least 3 anti virus programs 4. at the end of this it will download another downloader 5. this will also try to infect you, your neighbors and distant relatives computers with what might very well be described as a virus. 6. At the end of all this HELL it will actually downloade the tiny programe 7. the program is crap at importing PDF files in an organised fashion
