  It makes your computer to reboot in order to make defragmentation. Ugly interface. It takes forever to defragment your HDD. The report file is very strange and noninformative.

  Summary

  Avoid this terrible programme at all cost. Even if it was free I would not waste time on this, but paying money for this... Execuse me Paragon but who do you think we are to buy this peace of crap?

  Free - this was the Paragon Total Defrag 2009 Special Edition on the cover of a PC magazine

  Summary

  As someone else reported here, the analysis phase was slow. Previously no trouble with the disk drive - just over full (about 85%) and fragmented. This may be a great defragmenter, the version here may be significantly different than the version I used (though it was a 2009 version) but I guess it will be a little time before I fix up the drive enough to see whether it's actually had any positive effect. However long it is ... it will be a lot longer before I use software from this manufacturer again. (And yes ... I know my way around a PC ... PhD and 15 years in the IT industry)

  Summary

  I downloaded trial version of that program to see if it does what they say. Eventually if it would work for me I would buy it. I decided to analize (not yet defragment) HDD that is 160GB with approximately one third used. The program suggested to reboot the computer (since the disk is Windows disk) and started the analysis. Well, it took healthy 56 minutes (the comuter is dual core AMD based machine) while it was telling me that defragmentation (what? I asked for analysis) is going on. After it finished the program rebooted computer and the result was... nothing!!! I saw no analysis summary. OK. Perhaps the defragmentation was done? No. It was not. It took nearly an hour to do nothing. I asked about this Paragon's customer support. After a week I reminded them that I asked a question. Only then they answered. Here it is what they said: "The results of analysis were displayed in during restart. Unfortunately current version doesn't save results to report file. If partition isn't locked, analysis is done in Windows, without system restart, so you will get more time to views this info. Also with full version comes bootable Recovery CD, so you can do analysis and defragmentation with its help, and again it will give you more time to view the summary". Any othe program makes such analysis during a minute or so. Total Defrag required 56 minutes! Only in order to display the result for a second during the start up? That is ridiculous. And they cannot implement the report saving? It is the easiest thing to do. I could understand if it would a freeware. But you actually paying for that and getting today an interface on par with DOS times of 80?s. I can imagine how long time it would take for the defragmentation. So I am totally disappointed and will neither buy it nor recommend it. Just because I could not tried properly. May be I?m wrong and it does very good defragmentation but so many other programs and there are free ones. Defragmenting the MFT which is a feature of TD is not very necessary. Today?s MFT are very rarely getting defragmented. Summa summarum. I hardly can justify 39$ for that program.

  Can't say there was anything I liked...couldn't use it

  Contacted their tech support and they said it was anit-virus conflict...Unfortunately...this means they didn't even review the crash report I sent...I don't have any anti-virus software installed yet...

  Summary

  Bottom line, unless their tech support can figure out the conflicts...I would suggest you don't waste your time with this program...

  I used to use some freeware, but with this TD2009 it seems to be made much thorough!

  The level of defragmentation offered by this software differs from other tools I've tried. No doubt that you will see some improvement in the overall responsiveness of the system.

  I bought it for $19.95 thinking it was a good deal

  Cons

  After installation, Paragon requested a reboot. I scheduled a scandisk for the same cycle. The scan began when complete, it went back to the bios, and scanned my machine again then back to the bios. This continued and I could never boot up again.

  Summary

  This software destroyed my hard drive. I had to rebuild my system. I would be very careful with this one. Maybe wait for the next release.

• Excellent alternative to windows defragmentator!

  Pros

  I've been looking for an alternative to default defrag for a long time..have tried lots of free stuff, but as for me it's just not efficient enough (e.g. auslogics diks defrag). Easy to use, easy to setup, friendly interface. 5 stars.

  I don't have anthything againts. My PC running much faster now. That's exactly what i wanted.
