    "Still ticking"

    April 11, 2014   |   By Tryumph

    Version: Palm Desktop 6.2

    Pros

For anybody still using their Palm (I use it to play dull games on airplanes to help me sleep -- seriously), this software still makes it possible to download stuff and transfer it to the Palm (in my case, a IIIc). It's still tricky to install and clunky as ever, but considering the options, who's complaining?

Contrary to a previous review, it DOES work with Windows 7 (at least my 64-bit version).

    Cons

    Palm, we hardly knew ye.

    Summary

Last gasp of support for an obsolete product. I suggest you download and save the installer and any related software in case Palm goes bye-bye for good.

"Previous Palm Desktop v. 4.1.4 is Better"

    May 25, 2013   |   By Johnstone59

    Version: Palm Desktop 6.2

    Pros

Works well on all versions of Windows 7.

    Cons

There is no color coding your calendar categories like there is on Palm Desktop v. 4.1.4.

    Summary

I ran this Palm Desktop v. 6.2 on my Windows 7 Home Premium laptop for awhile, but I never liked it as well as v. 4.1.4 because this version does not allow for color coding the calendar categories. The old version 4.1.4 will not run on Win 7 Hm Premium, but I discovered 4.1.4 will run just fine on Win 7 Ultimate, so I upgraded to Win 7 Ultimate. You can find a free upgrade to Win 7 Ultimate on the internet that passes the Windows Genuine Copy test just fine.

"Very good upgrade to my original"

    March 15, 2012   |   By mare1936

    Version: Palm Desktop 6.2

    Pros

This program downloaded and installed seamlessly. The upgrade is not particularly noticeable, although it runs well and has a few new perks.

    Cons

The hotsync is not operable with this version either since I have a 64 bit system. My biggest complaint with this is that although my Palm z22 was not a year old when I got Vista, I could not use it on that version of windows. I had to use it with my daughter's XP. Then she went to windows 7 and I could use it there. I got a new computer and it is a 64 bit system. And now her's is too. Since my palm works fine and has so much data stored on it I can't seem to get it to sync with anything. So My grandson gave me an old laptop with 32 bit but "slow as molasses In January" and I use it there. I know these computer companies like "planned obsolescence" but it tee's me off. And since I am on social security I can't afford to replace something that works I'll have to settle for that. I downloaded on that and all works fine. Thanks for listening to my complaint. Maybe you can talk someone into creating a driver for 64bit systems. You's make a lot of palm owners happy.

    Summary

It's good if you have 32 bit systems.

    "No major problems w/download."

    April 29, 2011   |   By stoweb

    Version: Palm Desktop 6.2

    Pros

Not able to comment since I don't use added features.

    Cons

    None noted thus far.

    Summary

No particular problems downloading to Windows XP desk-top/Palm T/X. Did not lose any data. Have not tried to figure-out how to back-up my data for handheld - in case everything were to get lost during 1st Hot-Sync (which occured automatically during set-up). Kind of scary - although I also sync w/a laptop - so data is backed-up there.
