  It will not install. When installing I get this "Error 1320. The specified path is too long. A:\My Documents." Options are Retry, which is useless, and Cancel. My "my documents" folder is on an encrypted drive A:. So what?

  Pros

  This is a great software to use if you want to visualize your ideas and projects. I frequently volunteer for large organizations and find this to be a versatile, easy to use software which allows me to present my ideas easily to others.

  Summary

  I frequently volunteer for large organizations and have the responsibility to outline and present rather complex ideas for fund raising, etc. to groups of people who serve on boards and committees. Recently after a friend showed me how she effectively uses this software, I decided to use it to outline an idea I have developed over a period of years. I gathered my notes and various documents I had created and was so easily able to lay it all out in a way which brought it all together quite well. I was able to attach various spreadsheets to little notes about my ideas and even create relationships between those spreadsheets, notes and links to websites which helped me visualize all in one place my entire idea. This in turn made presenting it a cinch to do and the committee unanimously approved of my idea. It was a multiple aspect fundraising idea with so many elements it seemed complicated until I and others could see it presented in PMM. I now feel comfortable saying goodbye to my sticky notes, spreadsheets which I have a hard time finding when I most need them and bookmarks to favorite links which again are hard to find when I need them to demonstrate and strengthen my ideas!

  My answer to critical project management on behalf of all my clients! Tool to implement as a KEY part of EVERY consulting project! POWERFUL visualization of complicated concepts through the use of notes, spreadsheets, relationships and attachments!

  Cons

  Having used even the last version of PMM, I would say the newest features have done away with everything which would have been on my wishlist for this new version effectively addresses each one! Love the ability to integrate worksheets within notes!

  Summary

  I have long searched for a powerful multi-purpose management tool which could be used to effectively visualize critical and complicated concepts. Important to me was to have the ability to integrate key elements of a project in a way which would allow me to see a complete picture. As a consultant, it is vitally important to understand every important aspect of a project well enough that you can bring that concept to life so that others can also "see what you see!" Within moments of working with PMM 7.0, I knew I had found my answer! This powerful software allows for everything I needed for my company and very effectively integrates the ability to visualize critical concepts through the use of notes, spreadsheets, relationships and attachments. By further understanding the theory behind its creation and development through the years, I began to see it as an even more powerful tool. Since then I have introduced this software to many people who I knew would benefit from its powerful features. One of my first projects within it was to create a visualization of how I could integrate its use to allow for more effective delegation of tasks, and the tracking of phases of various projects. By studying the philosophy of Constructive Recollection which apparently led to the idea for the product by its creator, I was able to then visualize how PMM could be something I could implement within the companies owned by my consulting clients, training them how to be more productive, which ultimately could lead them to increased profitability! One challenge I often encounter in my field is to find the most effective way to create paradigm shifts within my client companies. PMM is the best possible tool I have found which allows me to do this! By creating a client specific project in this software, it helped them visualize, because it was meaningful to them, EXACTLY what I attempt to teach all of my clients! Thinking "outside the box" is a difficult lesson to teach, but vital to the successful introduction of cultural change within a company! PMM or Personal Memory Manager is quickly becoming a client favorite! I consider it now to be a personal extension of my brain, a tool which allows me or my clients to constructively adapt to any necessary modifications to a concept or project. It allows us to visualize the same concepts from multiple points of view which ultimate guides to better decision making capabilities. As a virtual "mind map" it has simply become undeniably critical to me and my clients. I am proud to introduce this product to every client in the future and thankful for the multiple-license discounts available to my larger clients!

• Good ideas need more work

  Pros

  Good concept - to represent ideas and data visually - but falls short in doing this. The concept is simple: a) Record details in notes. b) Move note headings to a whiteboard as sticky notes - and define relationships between them.

  Cons

  The visual is underdeveloped - all sticky notes are rectangular. Only three relation types are given - assumes, consists of, leads to. Buttons on toolbar are old fashioned - eg, a door for Exit - and can't be customised.

  Summary

  PMM is a good idea but doesn't feel secure or complete. It is not yet flexible enough to achieve the goal to assist free thinking. Micro Logic's PIM Info Select is a more professional alternative.

  Pros

  I’m not an objective reviewer. Therefore I didn't want to give it a star rating. However, you cannot submit a review without giving it a rating so if you want to, ignore mine. I’m an aquintant of the maker and have tested PMM as sort of a ‘usual consumer’, that is in a “start, do silly things, don’t use the help file and see if it crashes”, kind of way. It didn’t. Although I had some trouble in the beginning of a “my logic doesn’t grasp PMM’s logic” nature, I became proficient with relative ease compared to other software I have tried. Use the demo video as a step by step training manual. If you are familiar with ‘word’ and ‘spreadsheet’ PMM isn’t difficult to master. <p> <p>The screenshot gives an example of its functionality. In this case it’s used as a screenwriters tool. I participate a lot in political, historical and philosophical forums and platforms. I manage all pieces I’ve written and-or collected from the Internet and ‘connected’ them using PMM. Since using PMM I can find information, its links and related subjects in a flash. I can visualise all snippets of information, articles and relevant links (in PMM notes) rapidly in the PMM sheets. In the screenshot of a PMM sheet you can see the relations between the ‘notes’ textually but you can use colour coding as well. You can write or edit text directly in the PMM notes and if you are a PowerPoint user, it’s ‘compatible’. <p> <p>I find PMM very useful, I wouldn’t have written this just out of politeness towards a friend. The application possibilities are almost infinite. It is a useful tool for anyone having an analytical or investigative profession or hobby, from journalist or lawyer to police-detective or staff-officer. It also has many business applications. The free version has sufficient capacity to try it out and experience it’s versatility for yourself.

  Cons

  I sometimes still have trouble fitting PMM notes or sheets to ‘full screen‘, particularly when I have a lot of open notes and sheets. The cascading process doesn’t come ‘naturally’ to me.
