Pros
I felt compelled to add my opinion after buying and using this set of programs. It REALLY is a lifesaver. I tried 3 other programs also found in download.com and they were basically junk. I was in big trouble when my computer started to act weird and just turned my outlook, access and excel (surprisingly not word docs) into garbage. I managed to fix the computer but the files were damaged. This basically meant I was in deep trouble. I'm sure there are many stories like mine but I had to share. With Officefix I restored every file except one excel sheet. It was a small price to pay including the almost 4 hundred bucks I paid for it.
Cons
I agree it is expensive but if you need it you need it, nothing else was even close.

Pros
I needed both the excel and the access programs to restore more than 100 files (20 databases and 80 some excel files). I still don't know why they would not open. The program doesn't tell you what went wrong with the files, it only restores them. This set of programs worked perfectly. My files were all available in less than an hour (there is a batch option you can use). Overall I have to give it the highest marks for effectiveness. It is also very easy to use. I always send a support request with a general question before I buy from a vendor I don't know. I want to make sure they are going to be there if I have a problem later on. These guys gave me a personal response shortly after I asked them a question through their support page. Pretty rare to see these days.
Cons
Pricy, but worth it if you can afford it. There are some elements that were not restored such as field attributes in Access in my case. I would like to see a report telling you why the file is damaged.

"A life saving software"

Summary
I downloaded (slightly large file size) and installed the demo easily. Once I had it running I saw that the full version would restore my damaged Access database. I was truly amazed as I had tried everything else. I hated having to spend the cash but It would be a nightmare to lose the ifo in the file. Now I have a "safety" software that will hopefully save me some headaches in the future. Thanks for a good suite
